John Stones transfer saga

Another conspiracy theory smashed to smithereens then.

hallelujah!!!

But wait, I can the next mental theory being:
"Kenwright has made stones hand in a transfer request so he can look boss in the media and with some of our fans and reject it, then everyone's made up with him and that's why stones was crying at the services"

Here's the difference between Lescott and John.

Moyes wasn't for selling......that is why Joleon was included in the team that day against Arsenal.

Lescott went out and played like a pub league player in a deliberate show of petulance.

He not only burned his bridges, he scorched the earth and all.

There was no way back, not with Mr. Moyes and not with the fans.

No doubt it would have escalated even further and he would have spit the dummy out if we had kept him beyond the deadline.

So the bid was accepted. It was the only thing to do in the circumstances.

John Stones, on the other hand, had played well in our three league games.

He was poor last night but so was Robles, Jags and Oviedio baby around him.

John appears like he is happy enough going to Stanford Bridge......but content enough to stay here.

So he is worth keeping even he did submit a TR.

I imagine he has been given assurances that if a big move us on the cards next summer we won't stand in his way.

The onus is now on Bobby to use this time to either bring someone in or bring Galloway or Browning along so one or other can step into John's shoes.

So this time next year lads, we might have another prodigy at centre back and £40 million ish quid to invest in the team.

Or....we might be in the CL ourselves and John wants to stay and be part of it.

Whooo Hooooo.......Everton is on the move again ;)

The cynic in me thinks the board may have played a masterstroke here. Get Stones to hand in request, reject it, look great, fans forget about lack of signings for a bit and window closes without any major signings. Also makes us look stronger in media.
