John Stones transfer saga

Sorry I'm going to have to post it again because I can't quite believe what I just read:

'Everton Football Club has rejected a transfer request from John Stones.

Since the start of the transfer window, we have resolutely turned down offers from another Premier League football club for our player.

John is not for sale and he will remain a highly valued member of our first team squad.

Bill Kenwright
Chairman, Everton Football Club'

Being from the horse's mouth it's the coup de grace. There is zero chance of him being sold now.

REJOICE.

@davek

Think the club have handled this superbly. Big step in the right direction showing we have some serious ambition. Now we need a big signing without lettin anyone go, and we are good to go. Never seen a media campaign so determined to force a transfer so refusing to buckle will be a huge middle finger to everyone.

It looks definitive.

However, you literally dont know with this feller until the window officially closes.

Regardless of that, it's always been about providing the manager with cash for this window as far as I've been concerned.

Keep Stones? Wonderful. Have that Chelsea. Yes...and then what after the buzz dies down?

We need action in this transfer window, not just holding what we have.

That's the part of the equation the fat headed fraud hasn't addressed.

Just been having a nose at a Chelski forum, I don't know why I do things like this as it just infuriates me, fair play to the Everton fans posting and putting up with some arrogant comments from a minority of probably fairly recent fans about us being a "feeder club" etc. just thought it would be interesting seeing the thoughts of other fans on this. I don't think Stones is going anywhere.

Do need two new faces

We'll let's see the reaction from mourinho press conference. If he comes out saying something negative about our handling of the transfer request and add in a bit of sour grapes comment then I'm convince stones will stay with us beyond September. If he continues to be subdue about it, then I believe negotiations are still going on behind the scene.
I wouldn't even give his reaction one moment's thought.

Don't know why you are spluttering Damo.

Yesterday informed us that Bill Kenwright had "orchestrated" a campaign to get him out of the club.

Now the chairman by coming out with that has stuck his credibility (no laughing at the back) on the line.

I'd stay well piped down if I were you.

...

Shooting the messenger is your forte

It's about time clubs stood up to the Chelsea's, Man City's etc of this world. I hope we stick to our guns regarding Stones but I can't help but having a nagging doubt that we will see another twist to this saga.
