John Stones transfer saga

Imagine the club have been locked in talks with Stones all day and reaffirmed the fact he isnt for sale to him and his agent.

Hopefully its accepted and we move on; hes a young kid who is badly advised and I dare say feels a range of emotions. Martinez, Jags, Barry etc will wrap him up in cotton wool these next few days and he will come back better and stronger.

It had been mentioned to me that Stones and his agent were at Finch Farm today so you could be right.

I don't recall owt :(
may have made that up then. I remember the rumours that he knew more about Rooney's personal life than Wayne would want revealed. Really are just rumours but it would explain Rooney begging to be let go. Horrible business. Was so gutted at time I couldn't even watch him play for England. Now just seems sad and sordid

Excellent - item 2 on the agenda (also in matters arising) - Investment required, the Board, new investors or sale?
I think we need a sale honestly. The current board has had enough chances to show a vision for improving our financial status and has not done so.

If I were an investor, I would not invest in Everton with it's current board of directors.

Martinez has shown his mettle here, taking the board along with him as well. If Stones is not sold this window, it may even be that Everton have brought about a significant change in the business of football, a new era when clubs with less money do not have to give up promising players to the wealthy elite.

That would be the ideal; it really would.

I agree totally - no-one would go in as a significant minority holder with the current incumbents - but the game has to be played.
