John Stones transfer saga

What point do us clubs outside the top 5 serve anymore? Wanyama handing in a transfer request, Berahino handing in one and Stones too. Seems like any time we get players capable of taking us to the next level we're forced to sell. Happens to all the teams outside the CL places.

We must stay defiant on this or set Chelsea a deadline of tomorrow for a £40m bid. If they don't play ball by then refuse him for whatever price. If they do, £40m is plenty to replace him with.
The bar has been set by the sale of David Luiz for £50 million,if they can sell at that price then they can buy at that price.

Would rather Stones had withdrawn it like, but fairplay to Bill, I hope they've judged John's attitude/response accurately.

i still don't buy this whole saga, not fully anyway.

It's good news they've publicly stated he's not for sale.

But if we don't sign the 3-5 players we need then i dont really care anyway.

"..we have resolutely turned down offers from another Premier League football club for our player."

That's been worded superbly. Even though the whole world and it's dog knows Chelsea have been bidding, Kenwright demonstrates through his own actions that you just don't publicly speak about the details of transfers unless the deal is done. The integrity of that statement is a message in itself.

Imagine the club have been locked in talks with Stones all day and reaffirmed the fact he isnt for sale to him and his agent.

Hopefully its accepted and we move on; hes a young kid who is badly advised and I dare say feels a range of emotions. Martinez, Jags, Barry etc will wrap him up in cotton wool these next few days and he will come back better and stronger.
