John Stones transfer saga

Oh he is a rogue.

He was banned from being an agent for a couple years.

He was accused of being involved in a blackmail plot, I can't remember if he was acquitted or convicted.

He is always in litigation with former partners and clients.

He literally "stole" Wayne from Peter Mackintosh, an Evertonian who was Rooney's first agent.
pure speculation I think but what was suspicious to me was the Newcastle bid that seemed to gee United into signing him that window. Dalglish had obvious links to Stretford and links to the Newcastle board. I wonder how serious the Newcastle bid was. Seemed way out of their usual price range and almost certain to be rejected by club and player. I have always wondered if it was even financially viable. Wouldn't want to cast aspersions on King Kenny's honesty however. obviously

Oh, it was worse than that.

Everton had an agreement with United that they would have first refusal on Rooney in exchange for waiting at least a year before making a bid. Might have even been two years.

Provided no other club triggered a release clause and made a bid before United, in which case they would make their own bid.

Stretford was a big friend of Freddie Hall and he actually had an office at the Barcodes's stadium because he did so many deals on behalf of that club.

He got Hall to make the bid for Rooney......even though there was a snowball in hell's chance of Rooney going there and Hall knew it.

But Jack was out the box then and the rest is history :(

ah right. So Kenny in the clear. Maybe. Stretford's contract finished before the next window I believe

Will someone please free Mourinho from acting like a complete hyena feasting on another club because he has a Russian oligarch bankrolling his wacky media oiled schemes

or there was definitely some reason I remember thinking he needed the deal done that window

Everton Football Club has rejected a transfer request from John Stones.

Since the start of the transfer window, we have resolutely turned down offers from another Premier League football club for our player.

John is not for sale and he will remain a highly valued member of our first team squad.

Bill Kenwright
Chairman, Everton Football Club

Over.....and out.

Now.....let's go sign Yarmalenko, Bill ;)

Saido Berahino has unfollowed his club West Bromwich Albion on Twitter
Reported Tottenham transfer target Saido Berahino has cut his ties with West Brom - on social media.

The England Under-21 international unfollowed his employers on Twitter, a day after they turned down his transfer request.

Berahino was left out of the Baggies' squad to play Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, despite Spurs having an £18m bid for the player rejected during the previous week.

West Brom have rejected the striker's transfer request and it is understood that Tottenham are wary about making a third bid for his services.

West Brom's first-team coach Gerry Francis told Sky Sports News HQthat Berahino remains their player and is available for selection for Saturday's game against Stoke City.

What point do us clubs outside the top 5 serve anymore? Wanyama handing in a transfer request, Berahino handing in one and Stones too. Seems like any time we get players capable of taking us to the next level we're forced to sell. Happens to all the teams outside the CL places.

We must stay defiant on this or set Chelsea a deadline of tomorrow for a £40m bid. If they don't play ball by then refuse him for whatever price. If they do, £40m is plenty to replace him with.
