Just to put that banner rumour to rest.
Martinez doesn't even "respect" our right to bid for one of his players.
Similarly with this crap about "protecting" young players.. because the authorities won't. Say what? Where was the protection for Stones when Everton bought him from Barnsley? Or for Rooney when Man U came calling. These examples don't count though do, they. Because in neither case were nasty old Chelsea involved.
The window is open. We make a bid. Everton tiurn it down. So we make another, higher bid. Everton turn it down. We have just as much right to submit a bid as Everton do to turn it down. That's how it works. All this garbage about "the authorities" hinting at tapping up and malpractice is delflection at best, rabble rousing at worst.
And the tragedy is that Everton fans en f**king mass are apparently dense enough to fall for this crap.
he would currently be 4th if not 5th in our pecking order behind Terry, Zouma, Cahill and maybe even Ivanovic so the need to get him now just isn't there so we don't need to pay through the nose and yes we are buying for the future, but all that means is that we needed to turn his head, make him feel wanted here and that Chelsea is where he wants to come, which we have. Everton are in a position now where they have to sell in my eyes otherwise they will have an unhappy player for the rest of his career, as I don't see them wanted to sell for any less in January or next year and he isn't worth what Everton want, can they really turn down £30m to improve their pretty poor squad which is severely lacking in quality depth I think not.
no point. Mods on other football forums are just as bad as their posters. Worse in merseyside as they are just the loudest, whiniest of the bunch who like to think they have real power.
Didnt you know the rules of the EPL and Sky SportsIf you haven't won anything recently, you're supposed to stop trying and exist only to help the rich get richer.
Nixon out !Watergate couldn't hold a candle to this saga now.
Hopefully there won't be a similar outcome.
Reminds me of the Modric saga. We refused to sell to Chelsea at £40mn but sold to RM for £35mn the following season.
Personally, i would rather take the £5mn hit than deal with that lot.

...maybe, maybe not. And that's a fair bit off. Can you see Stones starting at CB next summer for England? His value is most likely going to get a lot higher. When he's first choice for England it will add to his value and the new tv deal will add even more.
Ladies and Gentleman, the Shed End John Stones thread
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't modric hand in a request to go to chelsea that was refused on the grounds of "Instead, you can go to a continental CL club if one comes in for you"?
And when he went to madrid, did he actually hand in a request to go there, or was it part of the agreement?
There is the possibility this will happen by Monday. Shame for football but it is what our club has become unfortunately

This club cant afford to turn this money down. Ideally we could. But we have owners who wont give the tv revenue cash over to the manager that should be given to him. We always have to factor that into any situation over player sales. It's not right, of course. But it is the reality.
I admire RMs position on this, btw. I'm just not sure it's what's right for this season. There will be many furious fans at the end of this window when we dont get targets in, but the two issues are interlinked.
That bit has been bothering me. I wish they could be reported to the PL for all the crap they're putting out there to try to snag stones, but i doubt anything's going to be done, if it hasn't been already.
Also, off topic, but is there a way to get my named changed? I don't like having my full name haha
