John Stones transfer saga

Correct. The only way he can stay here after September 2 without copping fan abuse of some sort

It'd be sad (to me) if he did cop abuse, Gerrard got 100% backing from the fans after failing to leave for Chelsea. Admittedly we're not as deluded as them...

Except very few - if any footballers have ever done that - and I would bet an awful lot of money that John Stones isn't going to 'make a legal stand'.

It's nonsense. It's not the way football works.

You are right in terms that very few have gone to law in such a way but ther view very much is that several very high profile players have given notice only to be talked down and most then get their sought after transfer

It's worth reading about the Webster ruling

At times, my jury is still out on El Bob however his post match comments on John Stones went down well with me.

I took them as something of a three-pronged attack (if that's the right word)...
firstly at Jesse Mourinho and Chelsea for their snide way of trying conduct transfers...
secondly on the sycophantic media who have continued to drive this story in spite of three bid rejections and statements saying the player isn't for sale...
and thirdly and possibly more importantly, were his remarks a gauntlet-thrown-down challenge to BK and the board to fully support him ?

I think the best outcome would be that Stones withdraws his transfer request and makes a statement on the lines of " didn't realise how valued I am by the club and its fans" etc..

If he stays, I totally bet this will happen.

He will apologise and we'll all move on - especially given the next game after the window shuts will be Chelsea.

Everton will want to put the whole circus to bed and the player himself will want the fans onside for the forseeable future - not that most aren't already, as evidenced by last night.

no not correct, if he stays it will be because the clubs couldnt agree a deal for him not because he wanted to stay. fans arent stupid so stop making out if he says this all will be forgiven

as i said before the lad wants out and has now handed his transfer request to confirm this. its lescott all over again

Irrespective the employee can be considered akin to salvery ( that's what I said from the off) if he/she doesn't have the ability on their part to unilaterally terminate the arrangement
nope. otherwise we would be considered slaves unless we could refuse to pay for something we bought on monthly payments
