John Stones transfer saga

I don't see what the big deal is really.

A footballer who hands in a transfer request 6 days before the window, after an entire summer of saying nothing, is abused by the fans of that club. And what? We've all seen and heard far worse things at the match.

Not really any need for it, wouldn't do it myself, but given the media coverage and the fact that feelings are running very high I'm not going to get on my high horse about it.

We've all heard similar abuse at Goodison when someone's had a bad game, never mind stuck a transfer request in near the end of the window. Doesn't make it right, but lets keep it in perspective.

Mate, there is no justification for it. Parking the social behaviour discussion for a sec, even when keeping it in perspective, every Evertonian should want Stones to stay. Why? Because our manager does. I can't see how this helps. Demonstate some emotional intelligence.

He's a kid. Dire.

I see a few posts from you tonight advocating booing of Stones under certain circumstances (or at least, accepting that some people are doing it).

He's 21. He's not an Everton fan. We don't know the whole picture. Nobody should be booing him at all and it's sad to see that this isn't the case.

The fella who filmed the video wasn't the one shouting, according to his twitter.

I'm sure it wasn't.

I'm sure he didn't upload it thinking he'd look like a right ledge to his mates for telling a 21 year old that he should 'koff and that he's a rat.

Can't prove that it is him I suppose.

Personally I think it's easy to forgive him. He's 21 and irrespective of what agents etc have said he's had hundreds of so called experts in the media telling him that the best thing for his career is to move to Chelsea. All the tripe about learning from Terry (a man of undeniably questionable character) and needing to play champions league football. Add that to the obvious financial temptation and it's easy to see why his heads been turned.

I'm glad to have read in here that the vast majority of us feel the same. After all as soon as he puts on that blue shirt he's one of us.

Together we stand divided we fall an all that.
If he comes out and withdraws his transfer request and says he is committed to the cause, then yes we all forgive and forget.

If he stays quiet, biding his time until next Summer for his Chelski move, you still forgive and forget?
