John Stones transfer saga

Everton won't sell unless they accept a low selling on fee is my guess mate. There's a post about it a few pages previously which makes a bit of sense of why Everton could try and knock Barnsley down if they thought Barnsley were desperate for any kind of money ( 5% instead of supposed 15% )
Ah, thanks for clarifying. That does seem strange then, can't see why Barnsley would take any offer, especially after Stones has submitted a transfer request. Can we credibly threaten not to sell Stones if they don't accept our offer?

Only if we were trying to renegotiate with them and they weren't having it.
The numbers are abritrary but could go something like...
"Let us buy you out a X amount because Chelsea are currently offering 35 mil, but if they send us (EFC) a player as well than the 35 mil becomes 30 mil and you (Barnsley) lose out on some money." Then we turn around and accept 40 mil from Chelsea and recoup a chunk of what would have gone to Barnsley

If course we can, it woukd be our way of saying to Barnsley if you don't accept a lower offer it isn't worth us selling him as we will be paying them to large a chunk of money ( example 15% of 40m is 6m so Everton might be saying we will give you 7.5 which is 3m ). If we do sell, it wouldn't surprise me one bit we will be trying to pinch every last penny we can. It's Everton.

bit bad that if true ..... ' take 2.5 million or we just wont sell and you get 15% of nothing"
should just pay the money we agreed with them a couple of million is a lot to Barnsley, and it keeps them sweet if we want any other players in the future, bloody disgusting if true, real small time, hope they get there share

It's to the sell on percentage from this sale, it's our percentage of your percentage of the next sale of stones, so if his new club sell him you get a percentage of that sale and we get a percentage of your percentage, and that's the clause you're trying to buy out not our sell on from this sale

Clearly I've spent way too much time on this thread, because that actually makes sense.

So the two clubs are arguing over how much we each get if Chelsea sell stones?

the headache here is .... what if everton buy stones back .... and we have a percentage of any future fees and barnsley have a percentage of that percentage :)

I doubt Barnsley are a consideration at all here, Mac.

It is between Everton and Chelsea.

If Stones goes them Barnsley will be paid the percentage Everton agreed with them when the Stones deal was done.

Sounds to me like Barnsley's owner, whoever the heck he might be, is trying to big himself up on social media, going by what our man in Yawksur, @Magic BFC, tells us.

Sorry lads, a bit lost here ...

Are there any actual quotes from Everton, Stones or his agent in regards the handing in of this transfer request yesterday?

As it is, Roberto will be spending his pre & post match interviews tonight being hounded on the subject.

Anyone? Because the BBC, Sky Sports, Press Association etc etc are full of sh!te & appear to be Mourinho sock puppets.
Everton don't have a club spokesman. They should change our motto to NBM nil by mouth.

Can't believe we'd try to screw Barnsley in all this. We'll be the laughing stock of the league!
The whole idea of an on selling clause is to give something back to the grass roots, or where a talent was first identified.
We can afford to be screwed. Smaller teams cannot, and this would set a dangerous precedent.
I sincerely hope that this is all smoke n mirrors in order to delay the transfer to beyond the cut off...
