John Stones transfer saga

This is what gets me, it seems horribly myopic of his agent to not realize that starting every game gives Stones the best chance of going to Euros. None of Chelsea's centre backs have played all three league games this season, Stones really wants to enter that fray?

Not that I personally care much about how he develops if he's not our player, I get his agent just wants his fee now so he can stop worrying about injuries dropping his future transfer value.

Hope Martinez is giving the sales pitch of his life to the board to stay strong and turn down the move. I know Tubey and a couple others will think I'm being naive for not assuming that the board orchestrated this whole thing, but I don't think his sale is a foregone conclusion just yet.
I still remember the key issue with Rooney's transfer being that the agent's contract was due to expire and he needed a guaranteed payout at that window. It is not just playing time for his development, it is watching competitive games with quality on both sides not sitting on the bench, players being part of a club because they fit in and not to sell shirts, medals meaning something and not being a part of your natural career progress after you run onto the pitch for ten minutes.

Doesn't sound like we will hear anything from the club until later or tomorrow, according to Phil McNulty:

'Everton have yet to make any official response on whether they have received - let alone rejected - the transfer request from defender John Stones as he tries to push through a move to Chelsea. Take it as read, though, that the request has been made.

Everton - who are believed to be keeping quiet until after Wednesday's League Cup tie with Barnsley - will surely reject the request because to do otherwise accepts Stones will leave and hand control of the situation to Chelsea.'

We wont hear anything from the club until Friday, when they say they have agreed a fee with Chelsea, he will be a chelsea player by Saturday.

Read his post before chatting rubbish - he was talking about the issue of transfer requests being rife and nothing to do with the selling club.

Again, pipe down, learn to read.
How many occasions can you honestly name where selling clubs have persuaded the player to hand in a request?

So 24 hours has now ticked by since the transfer request was made. Am I right in thinking that the response from Everton is still silence and there has been no reaction from Chelsea in terms of re-iterating their interest or making a new bid.

Phoney war time, or lots of behind the scenes manoeuvring?

You are right about @davek.

He has called it right about this from the getgo.

But it ain't about him......it us about you imploring us to "trust" you and you "staking your reputation" on the fact he wouldn't be leaving and declaring to the whole forum that you would request the Mods ban you for a month if he did leave.

Are you going to renege on this pledge if he does in fact go?

No. @Woolly Blue can ban me for a month. I consider my self yet another victim of Kenwright and the EFC board

As @davek said.

I can tell you this. Another club inquired about Stones and were flatly told 'not for sale'

However, it appears to me that things were going on in the background. Theres too many coincidences of 'late transfer requests' happening that suits this board down to the ground.

Like I said. I shall take any ban with good grace.

Everton are peeing me off right now. @davek was right.

David is always right concerning the Board, its just a shame he cant see the utter fraud in the dugout for what he is.

Yes they could easily have made a statement if the TR has been rejected. The silence says that talks are underway. And hopefully talks are also underway to get the cash spent.

Actually I do. Selling clubs manipulate transfer requests, see Fellaini for details.

Pipe down.

True this.

Is no one's radar not going off. 5 transfer requests in order to put through the sale

As it suits the 'SELL TO BUY' agenda of this board.

Too much of a coincidence.

Tell me no ones buying it any more?

Well done on asking for a ban.

The bad news is that @GrandOldTeam usually gives a permaban for such meltish behaviour.

Best not alert him to this post.

Saying nowt until after tonight's game seems perfectly sensible and @BlockHead and myself have been saying so all day,

Bobby has a match to prepare for and life for Everton will go on after next Tuesday with or without John Stones.
