John Stones transfer saga

I have a vision of John Stones sitting on the Chelsea bench looking miserable. All this talk about going to them and playing CL and winning trophies is horribly premature. If he is done over a few times in CL matches and is dropped, or loaned out, his England career may die in the bum. I can't imagine Chelsea blerts will have a lot of patience with him. He'll either be an instant world-beater or they will turn on him.

You don't know that. So many on here are tailoring very little information to fit their narratives about the club, Stones, Chelsea, and Martinez. Currently, you simply haven't got a clue about what's happening (and neither do i or anyone else on this forum frankly).
@Moomin is pretty ITK. His deep undercover contact at Stoke has revealed some jaw dropping info regarding the workings of Stoke's cafeteria.. Also @Bungle is pretty up to speed on the ITK angle. His knowledge of plane landing timetables is unsurpassed.

Not on the EFC website, plus they get their sources from Sky.
Much as I'd like to think it wasn't true mate pretty reliable sources such as McNulty of the BBC are confirming it.

@rasssalgc: @philmcnulty do you know for a fact that he's handed in a transfer request?
@philmcnulty: @rasssalgc Yes...otherwise I would not be reporting or commenting on it. Do you know he hasn't?

Fwiw
@philmcnulty: As mentioned on @5liveSport fully expect Everton to reject Stones' transfer request - then up to Chelsea to make the next move.

They confirmed Yarmolenkono as well.

That there is/was interest yes. But the last I saw McNulty discuss the Yarmolenko deal was

@philmcnulty: Everton have intensified their efforts to sign Andriy Yarmolenko from Dynamo Kiev but still work to do yet. No foregone conclusion.

Huge difference in the confidence level. Doesn't mean we are obliged to accept it of course but with this many sources reporting it then the transfer request has definitely gone in.

I don't agree, the transfer request changes things. By next year, you mean January? By November the unsettling begins again. Set the fee, they don't meet it he stays but it cuts out the innuendo. He is going eventually.
No, I mean after the end of the season. He has got a place in the England team at the Euros to fight for. Play well for Everton, you will be playing for England. Take the huff and drop your standards, you won't.
He has got 4 years left on his contract and we don't need to sell. We hold the aces. We certainly shouldn't be @rseholes about it as we want him to stay and flourish, but he needs to be told that he is going nowhere for at least a season

The club needs to say something as soon as they can. They've kept the fans in the dark with pretty much everything this window, and the time clearly is now for some clarity.

I'm very surprised Stones has done this, and wouldn't be altogether shocked if there was some pushing from above. But it is what it is, and as much as I would love for Martinez to tell him to shove his request, I can't see it happening. And I'm not sure if keeping a 21 year old with a turned head is necessarily a good idea.

Basically, the club needs to act swiftly. If he's getting sold, sort it right now. If he's not, tell him now and end it. But finish this. It's already gone on too long.

We have to stamp it out.
let players From our club no that no transfer requests are been acceptable flat out reject them put a over price fee on there head no one meets it player will stay where he is

Although I would love to see Stones develop at Everton and go on to be the best defender in the world, it is not a total disaster and at the end of the day he is a central defender so it will cost less and arguably easier to replace than most other positions. If it means getting in someone like Yarmolenko then I'm afraid it is a no-brainer.

It is immensely disappointing that we always lose players nowadays, but times have changed. We cannot offer what the money clubs do. That is winning titles, mammoth wages and year on year Champs League football.

Put it this way.

IMO John Stones will be much easier to replace than Ross, Rom or Seamus would have been.
