John Stones transfer saga

Well, on that point, they seem to only need to bid an extra 4m to secure there man. Hardly a significant increase? Or is it going north of £34m?
That was the initial valuation when they bid 20m and so on. It's that tactic and the ongoing use of the press will now cost them a lot more. Martinez is not happy and is unmoved by the transfer request, stones is fully aware. To underline this is martinez decision and he will not be bullied - similar to Baines with Utd when again it was his decision he has the final say.

How is there no chance ?

They're paying the best part of £40m for him and he's better than Cahill.

40m is yesterdays 15m . They bought Cuadrado for £30m in January who everyone would say is better than Willian and look how that turned out

People really arent grasping that inflation in football has gone through the roof. £40m is really not as extortionate as it sounds

As I have said, underneath Martinez's charm and politeness, is a deep rooted steel.

Ozil or Sanchez? You think players of that quality are coming to Everton?

Roberto has said that we go from window with a certain amount of money to spend and that he's been trying to save it up to buy players from a higher price bracket eg. Lukaku. He's also said that he's in the market for a playmaker. Our record transfer was almost doubled with the capture of Romelu and I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that we could break it again if the right player became available and was willing to join us.

It counts against us that we're not London-based, not competing in Europe and we don't pay top wages. We just need to make sure that we have the money available when that special player comes along rather than spending it just to stave off accusations that it's going into Bill's back pocket.

Well we were getting beat, he didn't look fed up in anyway the week before at Southampton were he ran 70 yards grinning like a Cheshire Cat after Ross Barkley had scored the 3rd.
Why has the title of this thread being changed to the word SAGA ? What SAGA? He's not for sale. All Bids Rejected was a much better title
