John Stones transfer saga

My tin foil hat is picking up worrying signals. This whole 'Stones to Chelsea' saga is a legerdemain; a deceptive collusion between Jose and Sparky allowing Stoke to grab Yarmolenko whilst we are preoccupied with the Stones distraction. I must confess to being a little annoyed that @Moomin 's deep undercover Stoke contact (Deepthroat), has been so reticent in alerting us to such nefarious activity.

"Everton reject £20 million offer, they want £25 million"

"Everton reject £25 million offer, they want £30 million"

"Everton reject £30 million offer..."

Journo's have no clue what Everton 'want'. Stop pooing your kecks, unless he asks to go, he won't go.

Layer upon layer... this is the freshest sediment of transfer-induced cack to line our proverbial undies.

Interesting theory...but what's in it for Jose?

If we get £40m then nobody can complain as long as we spend the money on 2 centre halves and spend big on our striker and playmaker. Trouble is if we get that much we will buy those players and still make a profit on fees and say the rest is taken up by wages so will have not spent anything this window.

Oh. They'll complain. There's an agenda, do not question their facts

His stock will be no higher than it is now IMO.

Everybody knows they will not get him on the cheap. We have a desperate buyer, thus meaning the big bucks could be there now should the club wish to cash in, which I don't believe they do right now.

This is not about the value of John Stones now or in 12 months. It is all about the ambition of the Everton Board and the message that selling John Stones sends to an excellent bunch of young players that we have emerging at the club right now - lukaku, barkley, browning, galloway, ledson, dowell - to go down through the age groups. What selling John Stones says is that lads your agents might as well start planning your next move away from Everton cos the Board has shown such a lack of ambition that they'll sell the likes of a future leader as good as Labone or Ratcliffe way before he's matured for Everton or had a chance to become that leader.
