Embarrassing stunt from a group of people who think it is a good idea to set themselves apart from Evertonians as some sort of Superfans who understand everything whilst believing that the rest of us are naïve and know nothing.
Embarrassing.

Why even disect it? Because he's right, that's why. I bet whomever organised and paid for that embarrassment to all true Evertonians feel a bit stupid after that performance. But, then again, I suppose they'll take the credit for it.

Breaking news! The Blue Union, EvertonBoardOUT & SOS1878 have issued the following statement:

We would like to apologise to all true Evertonians for the plane banner stunt. We all feel really stupid, now that a 3-0 away win against Southampton has made up for the 3 failed stadium moves, £3m net spend over the last 10 years, lowest transfer spend in the Premier League this summer, a disastrous commercial department generating low revenues, and an abysmal 3 man board that puts no money into the club.

We're all very sorry, and agree with footballing legend Danny Mills' comments that we should all be proud and grateful if we finish 8th or 9th this season. That is our level, that is where we belong. Enough of this Kopite, 'wanting to improve the club' behaviour. We now know our place and we're all so very sorry. xx

Embarrassing.

What's your suggestion for the way forward then?

People who are prepared to stand up for what they believe in are not 'superfans'. They're committed supporters who care enough about the club that they cannot idly stand by and do nothing whilst it declines.

If you're not naive and not stupid, contribute to the debate. Tell us where you stand on the various issues. What should we do about the stadium? The commercial department? The lack of funds being put into the club? The absentee shareholders? Where do YOU stand on all of this?

Why? The result and the plane two different things
Maybe I'm in the minority then. This chairman and board are responsible for the David Moyes years and the subsequent appointment of Martinez - and the highest ever Premier League season points total that came from it. It sanctioned the purchase of Lukaku and Stones, and continue by sanctioning the additions of Barry, McCarthy, Kone, Deulofeu and Holgate.

Moyes may have had his detractors but there is no denying what he did for the club, and Martinez is taking us to the next level, and all due to this board. That's good enough for me, an Evertonian of more than 50 years standing, so I say those responsible for the banner are flying in the faces of moderate (sensible) Blues like myself.

What's good enough for you isn't for everybody else matey.its all about opinions and were we see ourselves going. Under this board it's nowhere and I don't want that for Everton fc.

Why did we stoop this low I've got no time for kenwright but using this kopite trick is as bad as it gets. I don't know how much money it cost to fly that banner over St Mary's but there must be more cost effective ways and better ways of getting some publicity. A mean we could have taken a full page ad out in the local press proclaiming your a dead man kenwright or how about buying an R reg montego van den plas and spraying kenwright out on the side of it and then ram raiding the glass doors at the park end. Now I don't know how much money it would cost to hire uma thurman but she's got a proven track record in killing bills so let's contact her agent I'm sure she'd like to spend some time at goodison. Has anyone else got some good protest ideas

When we become so insecure about "kopite behaviour" that certain fans would sooner see the club slip into mediocraty than take any action about it, ultimately they have gotten rid of awful owners and have financially stable owners who invest heavily in the club... wouldn't that be nice...

The way forward is not through stupid stunts like flying a banner from the back of a plane. Nor is it, I believe, in setting up groups of fans to take divisive stands on the issues you have raised to show that they are "committed" supporters.

To answer your questions, I'd like a brand new 50K seat stadium, a multi-million pound commercial operation and I'd like to know the identity of any absentee shareholders, although I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.

True Evertonians? Are you suggesting those that approve of the banner are somehow disingenuous, or second rate blues?

I don't feel stupid at all. I feel embarrassed, however, that there are those blues who see themselves as superior to everyone else and are fully taken in by the handwringing from the board & the 'Plucky little Everton' tag given to us by pundits & half-arsed lazy journalists.
