John Stones transfer saga

Really hope we can keep hold of him for another season....will also add on another £10m to his price the way he is progressing. Its a hard choice for both player and club

There's no price on intent and interpretation. We sell now, regardless of price, we will be seen as pushovers, out muscled, hoodwinking the fans ad nauseum, we stand firm and those the club and team need, the supporters become heartened.

It would give the greatest indication to the supporters of the intentions of the club.

I personally think Mourhinio is using the Stones transfer saga as an excuse for when he bails around November , already looks like something is stirring down Stamford Bridge with him blaming his medical staff ! He probably knows that Stones is going nowhere for anything less than north of £45M and Chelsea probably (hopefully) won't pay that !
Perfect opportunity for him when they are not doing as well as expected to roll out the "board didn't back me....etc....etc"

The whole thing is being handled very well by the club/player IMO, look at the mess at Man Utd with the De Gea situation, perfect example of how not to handle transfer speculation. We really are an example to all teams

Agree, but in fairness a lot of other teams (like Man Utd with De Gea) don't have the benefit of the target player being John Stones, i.e. a level headed lad who will continue to put in a great shift despite intense media speculation. Credit to him, he was outstanding yesterday.

Absolutely, Stones has handled the whole thing impeccably, I'm just imagining Mourinho watching the game yesterday, fuming because Stones looks completely unfazed by the whole situation!

Its like the Baines saga two years ago - Felli with find it hard to get into that UNt midfield when he is fit!
