to be slightly fair i consider a big club to have a big following, stadia aswell as obviously plenty of silverwear so i do in fact consider city a big club but the way the press etc etc are going about calling us a big club it seems they are doing it to wind sections of the footballing world up.

make no mistake about it city are a big big club but without much success for 30 odd years.

With respect m8 , City last won the league in 67/68 season , but you have to go back to 1936 when they last won it , and they've only won it twice in their clubs history .

1969 since you last won the FA cup .
1976 since you last won the league cup .
1970 since you won the Uefa cup .

A great deal of your history has been spent outside the top flight .
That's over 40 years since you last won the league .

Huddersfield town have actually won the league 3 times (y)

I'll be fair though .
You were first called Manchester City in 1894 so your team have a fair history , despite winning anything or not .

You have a new ground and money in the bank for the time being .
Your prospects are good , and your fans must be excited , but your fans need to learn to respect other clubs , as does your club .

Hughes' comment the other day regarding ' when a big club comes calling ' etc was totally out of order .
Hughes actually left a bigger club than City when he left Blackburn , who have a ' bigger ' top flight history of Silverware than City do and were around nearly 20 years before them ( 1875 ) .

I know it's not you who goes around shouting your opinions around , but City are a historic club , with good support , but they're not the daddy just yet .

Stop being nasty

Cannot believe some of on here. I still stand by Moyes and his decision.

As for City, I said before that the media was being used despite the comments from that arrogant Hughes prick claiming they have gone about it the right way. What a sanctimonious areshole.

As for players he can stuff Dunne, Petrov and for that matter Jo where the sun does not shine. Not worth a light the whole bunch.

We do not want has beens or so called Brazillian super stars, if Hughes wants Lescott that badly then fork over the right amount of lolly, 25 mill+ or go and chase Upson.

petrov is class mate, i'd take him plus 17 mil tbh

No Toffees, Petrov IMO too old now and getting injuries.

petrov may be 30 mate but are you telling me thats old ? petrov has only had one bad injury and that was last season and before that he has been injury free most of his career and i dont want us us to sell him but it seems petrov hasnt got the belly for a fight for his first team place and thats my only dissapointment with petrov because he is class.

like i said mate i base it on the size of the club with fan base, stadia etc etc and i would forget what hughes says about " when a big club come calling" because although we are a big club for the reasons i said i think hughes by keep harping on about it i feel he is on the wind up with moyes which is wrong.

would you take SWP then? i don't care who we sign as long as he can play on the right of midfield

I once thought Phillips was a good player the first time he played for City .
Since his spell at Chelsea , and his return to City , I can't help thinking his motives have changed , and he seems to do an awful lot of dribbling etc with no end product .
Not quite a headless chicken just yet , but his head has certainly been measured up for the guillotine .
