John Stones transfer saga

I can't believe some of the nonsense being spouted. Kopite-like remarks all over the shop.

The 'pundits' don't receive any backhanders from Mourinho. There's no conspiracy.

Honestly, take off your blue-tinted specs and give your heads a wobble.

Who said anything about mourinho?

Shearer is mates with Terry.

Thats the point.

Keep your kopite shouts to yourself if you please.

I hate postingtsomething that a steward of whoever tells you something but was told yesterday that Stones is due a significant sum in respect of a loyalty payment later in the month and that it could well be a key factor

As for all this tapping up if Everton believe that Chelsea players/ management team have indeed broken the rules then unless they are prepared to make a complaint they in effect are saying carry on

Not that they'll take any notice, and I'm no wordsmith, but;

Hello

As a regular MOTD viewer, I'm aware of the sort of complaints you regularly receive. I'm not concerned about where my team Everton are in the running order, nor am I particularly bothered about how much time we're allotted. I'm not easily offended you see; this is my first ever official complaint.

I do however, care about Everton player John Stones. I stress that he's an Everton player, because every man and his dog has been trying to sell John Stones to Chelsea this summer, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that we don't have a say in the matter.

I thought I could at least watch trusty MOTD, a platform which has up until now been above such speculation, without having to listen to yet another media exercise in unsettling an Everton player. The player has been silent, the manager has insisted he isn't for sale, so why did Alan Shearer feel so inclined to speak the way he did last night? And why did Gary Lineker even broach the subject? More importantly, why is there an accompanying article on your website today?

I've genuinely never witnessed such an aggressive media campaign, and I thought you'd be above actively adding fuel to the fire. The whole thing has left a very bitter taste.

Our manager, Roberto Martinez, has been left seething due to Jose Mourinho's comments, and I've no doubt that he'll be just as angry after hearing your 'analysis' last night.

I think a full apology to our manager, and to our club, is in order.
excellent stuff. I am waiting to calm down before sending a complaint or I will accuse Shearer of all sorts. facts are though. Stones is under contract. he is not for sale. the player has not asked for a move or even indicated he is unhappy. how with all of this taken into account has a pundit felt free to comment on a player having a choice that is not his to make. Shearer's opening statement implied that he knew this could cause a legal issue so considering how much he avoids any controversial opinion he must have had a massive incentive to do this. legally this is tapping up, but I would love to know if there is more to it than that.

I contacted the FA last week on the basis that as a customer (I know) that an organisation under their governance (Chelsea) is acting inappropriately toward me and causing me upset \o/

They won't accept complaints about tapping up directly as that has to come from the club.
ha ha. brilliant. don't think it matters how we put it. think it is just time they realised that without a real fan base the game becomes a load of nonsense, and this kind of thing spreads a total lack of faith

No worries OB. I knew you meant comment on them directly. I CBA complaining myself as I'd make it clear in the compliant that I want the licence fee done away with altogether.......So it's not as if they'd take loads of notice of me.
yeah prob not a good idea to include that. I am trying to work out how I avoid hiding my general dislike for Shearer as a pundit anyway in the complaint.

I blame lineker first and foremost mate. He asked the question.
Ironically enough many moons ago Lineker himself was the subject of a similar discussion concerning himself when an Everton player regarding a move to Barcelona during the WC in Mexico 86. The great Brian Clough fair play to him was a studio guest and made his displeasure known when questioned about Lineker and a transfer along the lines of its disrespectful to his employer Everton to be discussing such matters live on air.

Also I see Channel Five have won the championship football highlights of them , and put it out at a respectable 9 oclock spot - the BBC is full of pundits who are not needed usually I tape MOTD to cut their inept pundits out , but listen carefully about the blues last night they scraped the barrel over John Stones makes you wonder if they get a backhander for the nod of the chosen one maybe!
Chelski could not have put it better! a disgrace!
As soon as the programme ended it was all over social media!
his comments about Mourinho were pretty creepy I thought. one of my red mates said it sounded homo-erotic

yeah the question was out of order, clearly prepped though I would think so Shearer can have his rant. but even then why did Lineker not come back and put an alternative point of view. Said I find Lineker a bit dodgy before though and got a load of stick from some Blues. The stuff about Barca is interesting. proper football man Clough
