John Stones transfer saga

Maybe so...I only checked your posting history in the Martinez thread....and you disappeared from there for a long time.
I'll save you time, I never wanted him, he is full on cringe, he did brilliantly first season and like a total bell I enjoyed it although I didn't deserve to, but last season was what I expected from him, and he delivered, this season will be no different. Utter poo

Pot calling kettle black really, was off topic myself a couple of pages back!

However back to John, hopefully he realises that mistakes like he made for the second goal today are something it is better to iron out with us rather than under the glare of a large transfer fee and a manager like Mourinho.

That was poor defending today for their second, he'll learn from it. It's made harder for him though, because we're not defending as a unit

I think he'll learn from it. He did some very good things as well, but that was poor on his part for the second.

Whether you like Martinez or not, at least he allows him to play and make mistakes. A certain someone would have had him rar on the bench for months because of that second goal.

Would take £40m now, probs take £35m. One thing we should look at here is why are we keeping him for a year to develop him for another team? If a great offer came in, get the deal done and get the replacements in and continue on with life. He is going to gono doubt about it may as well get it done if said large offer came in.

Hopefully Augsburg holding out for the absolute maximum for the LB will make Chelsea less keen on meeting our valuation for Stones this season. Of course they will come back but hopefully we'll have more defenders by then.

Augsburg have rejected Chelsea’s €25m bid for Baba Rahman, with the German side holding out for €30m. The Ghana left-back, 21, has been identified as the player José Mourinho wants to replace Filipe Luís, who was sold back to Atlético Madrid after just a season at Stamford Bridge.

However, with Rahman already having agreed personal terms for his move to the Premier League champions, Augsburg have insisted that Chelsea must meet their valuation of the player who only joined last summer from Greuther Furth. So far, Chelsea have refused to budge but with a lack of defensive reinforcements available to Mourinho, it is anticipated that a compromise may be found.
