What have we learned from pre-season 2015?

It's not the same old everton - I remember when they were called Everton.

with the exception of teams that came at us and we were able to counter, what game did his tactics 'work'? Every time i watched Everton in the second half of the season the ANNOUNCERS made it a point to say our game plan was sussed out and the 'GOODISON FAITHFUL ARE RESTLESS'.

I mean possession game. If u take barca for example they are possession but clinical we have possession but the players we have are clueless to what to do with it or more likely scared to take responsibility. There are key elements missing in our forward players the main thing being lack of Urgency!

It's a shame deulofeu got injured. He's not perfect but every time he gets the ball he wants to attack.

We really need at least one of miralles or delefou in the starting 11 to give us that something extra. Need to find a way of freeing Barkley of his fear, looks scared to make a mistake. Issue still important until we sign a creative player. Cleverly looks like a good option alongside McCarthy. Several youngsters look capable of challenging for a place in the match day squad

That we're not ready, same as last year.
That the hopes of the supporters are still not being matched by the board
We're actually going backwards in real terms
This season (imho) time will be up for the board, never good when the expectations for the season are so low, reckon the crowd will get a tad angrier...just my opinion of course

I'm genuinely worried about this season,we needed players in last season and we still haven't addressed that. 2 players in isn't enough, I fear we will be left behind soon

If Martinez hasn't learned that McAleny is better than Kone and should be picked ahead of him every time, we might as well all give up.

A disgusting message to give out if he's forcing youngsters to sit and watch while absolutely useless leeches are picked ahead of them.

Unfortunately, I feel like he'll go with Kone ahead of him, which is appalling.

McAleny isnt played as a striker no more.

Good news though is he said we're going for another striker so think hes finally accepted Kone is finished

You just watch Ossie come on and improve the team's performance. As usual.
That's not an indication that Osman is some kind of Gianfranco flaming Zola though, is it. It's an indication that:

a) Osman can, if introduced off the bench, make a decent impact
b) We lack anyone who can have a similar impact for a full 90 minutes.

Osman is very nearly at the end of his Everton career. He's not the solution at the #10 position for this season, or any season in the future. If we keep bringing him on for 20 minutes here and there he will continue to make assists and score goals becaus ewe'll be playing to his strengths. If we start him in several consecutive games he will quickly tire / break.

EDIT: just seen you more recenet posts, where you make similar points! Apologies.
