No has mentioned Brian Labone and also Tommy Lawton was awarded one years after he left Everton and I think the
club acted very well with that one as I think Tommy had fallen on hard times.

I always like them. It's a bit of fun and a pre-season work out.

Been to a few in my time, but Neville Southall's was the best I've attended. And seeing Hibbert score was novel.

Thought a few more people could've attended Colin Harvey's though.

Did he? I don't recall this one.
He was still playing for the first team 15 years ago surely?he played in Moyes first match as manager, scored in the first
few minutes if I'm not mistaken.

I do.

Testimonials should mean something.

Right now, every player and his dog is getting one.

Only cos we've got players that have reached the milestone, my main issue is that in the past it was a final 'bonus' but they don't exactly need it these days and many get a couple of years on top whack wages hardly playing, although I believe a lot give it to charities ?

1 for the former players foundation would help out a lot that didn't earn the big bucks and are in their latter years. I'll bet some struggle to pay bills and used to get injected for pain to play every week.

What about future ones? Jags is one year away from 10 years (making me feel old, ffs.) Baines is 2 years away. Howard is also a year away (including his season on loan.)

Who was it against Bayern Munich ? ( Mark Hughes was playing for them) I though Kev the Rat ? We beat em again.
I remember that game - didn't we win 3-1, and Hughes nodded in the consolation for them? I don't recall it being a testimonial though. I recall it as being some League-organised thing to celebrate the centenary of something or other. Mercantile-sponsored event?

Maybe my memory's going though.
