He does seem a lot more genuine (honest too ?), than say McCarthy. I'll be sad when he leaves but feel I'll always have a degree of affection for the lad. IMO he'll be a 'great'.
mc carthy loves playing for everton and loves being in the city,
the problem is footballers have egos, how would you feel if someone where you work was being paid double your wage.
well cleverly and barry are!,
all mccarthy wants in parity.

Great post mate. Went to the U21s the other week, was good to be back at Oakwell again and around 16,000 went to see Stonesy, class to see.

Spoke to a Barnsley fan on the way out about Stones. He said you've got another player called Holgate who's looking just as good as Stones was at the same age. Barnsley have always had a terrific academy as well. Footballing town through and through - was often known as a Utd feeder club in the 80s/90s. Wish them all the best - the town deserves a club in the Championship at least.

Holgate is going to Villa for £500'000 EFC are missing a trick here he's worth 4 times that now, he'll be a top player in a few years time, worth double figure millions.

Would think Martinez has scouted him as he watched Barnsley and so did we to get Stones.

Whats the score with holgate, does he play for england youth?

He's 18 years old played, 22 first team matches for us at right back, but he's going to be a centre half, like all our defenders in the youth teams, he's comfortable on the ball, can find feet from 20/30 yard, more then capable of bringing it out from the back, and enjoys defending. He's going to be a good un, he's not played at England youth level but he will now he's at a premier league club.

How is he compared to Stones?

How is he compared to Stones?

He's a Villa, Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham, player from what I've seen for his career, Stones at the same age always looked as if he could be a top player at one of the best teams in Europe. Even at that age, he's good to be a good un, but Stones is just something different to most players he's special pal they only come along once a blue moon.
