Sorry mods, only jus read the warning disregard the Coleman stuff.

Back on topic, reading some articles suggesting we may take Januzaj on loan. Would be nice to get him on loan with an option to buy, low-risk pacey wide option who wouldn't have the same pressure. Was United's next superstar this time last year, expensive transfers have crowded him out. Could be brilliant business.

I've come to appreciate Hibbo a lot more the older he got and believe me he used to drive me mental. Does his job with the minimum of fuss, has a great attitude, seeks no publicity, signs any new contract with no fuss or tantrums and is probably doing sterling work in helping our younger players develop. Wouldn't surprise me at all to know that he has quietly been passing all his coaching badges ready for an Everton career part two. We want our professionals to be decent human beings and Hibbo is certainly one.

Or...we would be helping to develop a young player and the only beneficiaries in the long-run would be Man Utd?

Speculation thread mate, please respect the thread rules

But we shouldnt have to be selling a player to bring someone in.

Id rather he stayed and we bought a boss playmaker anyway. 'kin scandalous how we always have to sell to generate significant amounts of money

considering everything I agree we shouldn't have to

but if United want our player then they get him no matter what. I can't think of a single player in the past 10 years or more we have kept hold of when the top 4 came asking.

so on the basis that we do have to sell, would you swap Coleman for a player who will create 10 - 15 more points for us this season?

Baines when United bid for him? Or Jags when Arsenal bid for him?

haha yeah. fellaini didn't go there did he that windows? or arteta the year arsenal wanted jags?

always sell to the big clubs mate. Just because it wasn't baines doesn't mean they didn't get their man. And if that was last summer do you think United wouldn't have got him?

I think it's probably fair to say Hibbert has been on at least 25k a week for the past decade.

13 million pounds is what he's taken from the club in wages. Not even a goal to his name. Even Tim Howard has scored for crying out loud.

Let that sink in for a second.

It's beyond the point mate, he's a blue right, but he knows he cant offer the team anything, and he knows essentially he's fleecing the club, just because the manager foolishly offers him a contract, doesn't mean he cant and shouldn't say no. That's the point, he should have.

He mainly spends his time now at the fishing company he owns in france.

He's clearly not interested otherwise he'd have gone when it became clear he was never, ever going to be first choice right back ever again.

He should have gone down to the Championship; I am sure if he had told the manager he wanted regular football he'd have ensured a decent team was found for him.

Anybody got the number for Saul Goodman? I'm gonna sue Hibbo for fraud.

I assumed this was a joke. Then I looked it up.

Hibbert is hardly the first player to take a lesser role at a bigger club/team/league etc. He's spent the majority of his life at Everton.

I don't think you understand Hibbo's role...every organization needs a heavy. Peeps get out of line and it's chainsaws and bathtubs. He needs the fishing to have balance in his life 'cause killin' ain't easy.

looks weird without some sort of rep system hmmph (n)

Do you believe that it is Tony Hibbert who decides if he is given a contract at Everton . It is a decision for the manager to offer the player terms.

Tony Hibbert has been a loyal servant at Everton and deserves respect.
Yes, he has made a very good living but that is the industry he works in the opportunity was there for you to do exactly the same thing....if you were good enough.

Ti

Time for him to go

Why?!

He's clearly only an emergency player these days and I'm certain, with no actual proof, that his last contract had coaching type implications.

He'll be here forever. Deal with that knowledge.

Well give him a player coach role

Fairly sure that's what he is mate. Without him being official.

I can't wait for Hibbert to rise, like some goaless phoenix, to turn everton into a modern Sacchi's Milan powerhouse in 2028

Even more to the point, who the Christ would want to buy him the loveable shoe?!

There's always place for a good old 'un who knows the ropes - (well I like to think so) Thrift stores are more popular than ever. Some are called Vintage

I really do not want Hibbert coaching our young full backs

Unlucky then mate.

A player with vast amounts of experience, in the top flight of one of the best leagues in the world.

Nah. Must be awful.

Imagine that.

lol

He's a solid defender.

On his day, and if you only need a right back to defend as if his life depends on it and nothing else, he was quite ok.

But in the modern game and with European aspirations, he's nowhere near what is or was ever needed.

For sure, Seamus is a lot more exciting.

Imagine wanting to play a continental brand of football and being coached by Tony Hibbert

Why would you say that ?
What does his ability as a player have to do with his ability as a coach?
Lucky for Alex Ferguson and Mourinho that you didn't have a say in their careers.

All massively off topic - last warning

Can't see Man United loaning us anyone as the relationship between the clubs doesn't seem to be the best. Didn't they block Cleverley's loan move to us on deadline, before sanctioning a loan move to Villa?

If they want Coleman as speculated and we say no deal, that would make things even more tricky.
