Elis - linked in the Mail a few weeks ago. Seems to have gone quiet
Klavan - linked last week in the Mail

Lennon - hopefully brought back after his loan

Deeney - Mirror, but if 20 million is needed this one's nonsense

Thanks woolly.... but please can you reinforce that this thread is about genuine links..... not about how west ham are paying their players and selling seats ffs...... sorry for moaning but it's clogging up the thread.

Sounds from here it's more of a case of Roberto knows the positions we need to improve and will work to improve those positions rather than already having one set target.

Yea we've probably got a list of targets for each position and it's now just a question of waiting to see where they go. e.g. We might be someone's 3rd choice and they're our 2nd choice. To change that order we will need to spend more money than we would like. I can't imagine West Ham is Payet's first choice.

Unless Dann is signed I can't see us getting a new signing for a while especially considering we have Lennon as backup in case everything goes wrong.

Yea he's hoping that as those player run out of options to go to they will start lowering their wage demands.
 

Delighted with the business so far. I never expected to sign Deulofeu , but Cleverley was not a big surprise.

Both players have worked with the manager and he knows them as footballers but also their characters. In terms of fees we have spent very , very little when you take into account the calibre of players signed. The wages will have been offset or partially offset by the departure of Distin and Alcaraz.

The gossip has been correct about Cleverley and Deulofeu and the other person that there has been consistently strong rumours about is Scott Dann. Rumours very often come and go within a couple of days but this hasn't which may mean that something may be happening.

The creative midfielder is still completely up in the air.

I think Dann looks likely too and the fact there's no creative midfielder on the horizon probably is an indication too.

There was also the tweet about there being 15m to spend and whether that was enough.

Cleverly free, Deulofeu 4.3m, Dann 10.7m (max) perhaps. We only get Lennon if Mirallas leaves. Is this looking likely.

Bound to be some talk about Payet looking likely to go to West Ham given we were linked with him, but I agree with you that discussing West Ham's business model doesn't belong in here.
