Heaton struck me as being dependable whenever I watched burnley, one of their better players along with Trippier and Ings. Wouldn't complain if we moved Howard on and got him in for roughly the same outlay.

Not much of a beard though. Pretty sure that's why Robles got dropped.

Good link Friend, to help those that dont wish to click the link.

Everton have made inquiries about Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, with Tim Howard's future at Goodison Park now unclear.

Howard’s ex-wife’s return to the United States with the couple’s children has created the uncertainty about the 36-year-old’s intentions and the quality of Heaton’s performances in Burnley’s relegation season are thought to have impressed Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

Howard has always been clear about the significance of his family, taking a year away international football last August to spend more time with his children and it is unclear whether he will now look to a future beyond Merseyside. Heaton has two years left to run on his contract at Turf Moor.

If we brought him in and spent money on another top playmaker that would fill the requirement for 2 AM...

Osman / Naismith / Barry though...not needed and on good money.

If it was him on loan and osman/naismith as backup then wed have a lot of cash left over needing a LW/CB and keeper (perhaps).

Zat can you please speculate in the other thread, theres a good lad.

Said in other thread it'd be the best trasnfer business of the season to get rid of Howard like.

But i'd rather we either went out and got someone like Navas or Zieler than someone like heaton, Unless Heaton would be coming in as a back up and Joel given a chance till January.

But i don't think the story will be true, it's too good to be true for one, and for two his family moved back to the states a while ago so i don't know why he'd suddenly only be affected now.

Hopefully he's just super homesick and we can get the waster out of the team before he loses all of his good rapport with the fans.

people seem to rate Joel highly off those 3 games he had last season, if I remember rightly he never had much to do an nearly cost us a goal at home when he panicked an came off his line, only to change his mind an run back, was lucky the defenders got back in time to help him out

Unproven in my eyes and just as likely to cost us a goal like Howard if not more likely too

Navas is a great shout. Would show ambition and he'd be our number 1 for years.

Can actually see the article being true and Howard wants to leave, especially with the rise of the MLS, but I can't see Heaton being his replacement.

So he's unproven, but you think he's crap and/or worse than Howard.

How's that any more valid than him being unproven and people thinking he's good?

There's one thing I will say for sure, mate. You can't write off a keeper in his early 20s, and you can only really judge a keeper when he's had a good run of games. In Joel's cup cameos, which were few and far between, he looked dodgy. But when Howard was out injured, he started to look much improved after playing a few games in succession.
