I would be over the moon if we're genuinely looking for a Howard replacement like.

You just don't know next season whether you're gonna get crap Howard or boss Howard and that's not good enough for me. Could be the difference between Europe or another nearly-relegation battle.

Never seen him play that i remember but a goal every 2 games seems pretty good...but in the championship and for £12mil+ ? Cant see it...

We have:

DM -- McCarthy / Besic
CM -- Barkley / Cleverley
AM -- ?
Osman /Naismith / Barry also there...

Apparently getting a playmaker for AM so where would Sergi Roberto fit in?

Maybe as the playmaker? When we signed Arteta he was considered to be a CM in Spain but for us was a creative outlet, a 24 year old Arteta would be perfect for what we need now, I've not seen a lot of Roberto maybe a similar situation, I'm sure others on here will have seen more of him.

I've actually gone off Begovic quite a lot.
He's gone a bit Casillas.

I don't think we'll sign a keeper unless Howard actively decides to leave, Martinez has no doubt decided that the poor form he went through last season is a blip and not the norm.

If we brought him in and spent money on another top playmaker that would fill the requirement for 2 AM...

Osman / Naismith / Barry though...not needed and on good money.

If it was him on loan and osman/naismith as backup then wed have a lot of cash left over needing a LW/CB and keeper (perhaps).

Heaton is a good keeper but would like Kevin Trapp or Ron Robert Zieler.

Kevin Trapp would cost upwards of £10 million and Zieler isn't very good. But obviously they're foreign from Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover so they seem to have some sort of pull to English fans although Heaton would be cheap and has had a good season. Someone like Trapp, Horn or Baumann would be class but Heaton represents value for money after having a really good season.
