Summer Transfer Window - Credible Rumours Only Please

Villa have signed Micah Richards so that's Hibberts extension sorted the end of this season.

Fair enough, didn't see this :)

No worries.
It might seem overly draconian and just being done to annoy people but it's not, annoying folk is just a nice by product !

Last summer, and January to a lesser extent, quite a few lurkers contacted us saying the transfer thread was clogged up with various things such as cat gifs, cliquey in jokes and transfer stuff which plainly had no chance of happening.

If you look at the number of views a thread gets and compare it to the number of posts you get an indication of how many people are lurking. As I type, we're on post 1454 with 108,000 views ( 74 views per post )

The other thread is on a ratio of 672 to 21,500 ( 32 views per post )

For comparison, go to the Everton forum and click on "views" to order by that. Below the stickied threads the top 2 are the transfer threads from the last season with 3.2 and 1.3 million views respectively. Our most viewed match thread is on page 2 at 150,000 views.

Basically GOT is bloody huge

Anyway, the views on the 2 current transfer threads tells us two things

  1. This thread's more popular than the speculation thread ( though that might partly because it's stickied ) and
  2. It has more lurkers checking up on what people is likely to happen
Those of us who are on GOT on a regular basis tend to forget that there are loads of Blues using this place who rarely,if ever, post. They're as entitled as anyone else to use this place and, if we can make it easier for them to read what they're really interested in without overly stressing the posters, then it's not a bad idea to do so.

TL;DR ?

It's being done for the lurking majority

Really well explained. Maybe you could add it to the first post?

The Echo reckon we could get Podolski for £1.5m, would be a decent signing at that price, wages would probably be pretty high though. Also says that we were interested in Gignac but he's going to play in Mexico and that Alcaraz is moving back to play in Paraguay.

I would be disappointed if Mirallas goes, would rather he stayed of course but it won't be the end of the world. I'm confident we'd replace with a quality, consistent winger/no. 10 who can play on the left. Pretty sure we'll be leaving this window stronger than we entered it.
Hear hear!

Be a good signing if we play him up front, out wide he's useless.

Surely that must be a loan fee?
