Tim Howard is the least of our problems.
If the midfield and defence does their job properly then Howard will be fine. If they play like they did last season then courtois would leak goals.

You sir are smoking crack if you think the defence is to blame for howard form last season.

If we went through every goal we conceded last season a hell of alot of them would be down to howards individual errors.

We need a new goal keeper and I think martinez knows this (based on january) but it's not a priority. If we have money left over (ha! yeah right) after martinez gets his targets in, I think we will see some movement seeing as we where looking at goal keepers in january I doubt that will of changed.

del's coming back though can't wait to see the little chinless wonder running at defences in the royal blue again.

He can literally concede a goal from anywhere. The defense give away a free kick, there's a fair chance it will go in, if they leave a cross, Howard is probably flapping it in, if they show a striker down the line, Howard will still get beaten at his near post. If anything the opposite is true, it's difficult to defend well when you've got a woeful keeper.

Hope this is true.

Everton have made tentative enquiries about Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford.

Roberto Martinez has already signed Tom Cleverley this summer and will add Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona later this week in a £2.2m deal. However, he remains intent on bolstering his strikeforce as well as searching out a centre-back and a playmaker.

Bamford, 21, has had several English and Spanish clubs asking about his plans after an impressive season at Middlesbrough where he scored 19 goals.

Chelsea are looking to bring back Bertrand Traore from his successful loan with Vitesse Arnhem.

The 19-year-old Burkina Faso international has applied for a work permit to return to England and could become part of Chelsea's squad or go out on loan. Chelsea have already rebuffed an enquiry from Borussia Dortmund for the talented forward.

Chelsea should finalise agreement with Monaco for Radamel Falcao's loan over the next 48 hours with either Mario Pasalic or Charly Musonda going in the opposite direction on loan. Monaco also want to speak to Juventus about a deal for Fernando Llorente.

While I completely agree that we need a new GK, and have suggested Cech myself previously, there's absolutely sod all in the way of concrete links to one at the moment.

And we're about to sign Deufeleo for 27p so let's wait and see what happens.

Martinez has even come out weeks ago and said that he's happy to plod on with current GK staff so any GK rumours seem to be pure speculation.

Not a chance in hell Cech would come to us anyway. He wants mega bucks and CL.

The goalkeeper is the most important line in the whole team. The defence and midfield will tremble if they are playing in front of a dodgy keeper.
If the manager did not have confidence in his keeper there is no other position that would be replaced first.

If you can't see that then it's not me that's smoking something.

*sigh* we have two senior cb in our squad and one of them is in the under 21st competition this summer, that is a priority.

We have one good winger who looks like he might be sold this window, that is a priority.

We have no creative spark in the team as last season shows, that is a priority.

We basically have one striker that is a priority.

These are the positions martinez has identified as prioritys and he is right to of as they are prioritys. as much as everyone knows we need a new keeper this is everton and we can't afford to blow our budget on a keeper when we have other key areas that need strengthening despratly.

that's why we won't get one or if we do it'll be very late in the transfer window. not because martinez wants howard it's because he dosent have a choice.
