Naismith 3 year extention

I think so too, or a Championship team looking for promotion.

He's surplus to requirements here now. Where does he get a game with Cleverley, Deulofeu, plus a playmaker - added to the players from last season like Osman, Barkley, Pienaar in the hunt for a place too?

He'll be lucky to see the bench.

Not a bad thing really because it means that if he does play then it will be in his proper position, not in the position of any of the players you mentioned.

Would deffo punt him off, after his goals last season this is the biggest his stock will reach and he obviously doesn't fit into our system. Get £6-7 mil from a West Brom type club and either bring in another striker or put it towards the kitty and make a serious bid for a playmaker.

It's a f****** disgrace what some people are saying about him in here. Let's just hope he doesn't read this thread, eh.
The only disgrace was how he was a regular in our side when we had better options available. I appreciate his effort and determination, but we're a passing side who like to counter and keep the ball; what use is a player struggling to pass in that kind of team?

We are all in agreement that we need a striker, attacking midfielder and a winger or two. Naismith isn't in your plans either.

An embarrassing joke to have this feller at the club

Bollocks

He's not the best player in the world but it's hardly embarrassing to have him here

He's scored some big goals for us, including the one against Chelsea that got everything rolling in the 13/14 season

He's worked hard and played for the shirt. There's nothing embarrassing about that at all. Other players could learn from his attitude

If Barkley ultimately is not going to be that guy, then yes.

We need at least two options there and Cleverley is not one.
This is your code for ' Naismith isn't really a good forward and doesn't tuck in well behind the striker'. So why say it?

Why would you need two further options there if he is a really good forward and tucks in well?

He's proven that he can score goals against top opposition, whether that's the PL, Europe, or international level. To sell him would be daft, what if Lukaku picks up an injury? Can Kone be trusted? Naismith is a good option to have

Nah, it isn't.

It's code for 'every good team should have options in different positions'.
With the addition of a new striker, a winger or two and an attacking playmaker, that makes him 4th or 5th choice in positions.

That's some vote of confidence that.

He's just not good enough for how we play. We're a counter attacking unit, he offers nothing.

Still handy coming off the bench I would think, good finisher if a chance pops up he will usually net,I wouldn't be rushing to write him off just yet,we need a squad and I see him as a decent squad player.
