The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

That only works if the shares are publicly traded and there are a substantial % in free float.

If Everton would do an IPO then you could use the share price to determine the value of the club but I'd wager the share price would be rather higher if we did that.

You can claim market ignorance or low trading volume is depressing transaction price, but it seems hard to argue against that valuation since shares are freely changing hands

None of them have the desire (and possibly the resources) to own the club outright which might possibly happen if they went above 30%.
Just an investment opportunity for the three massive Blues. Buy at a ridiculously cheap price, no further outlay and hold on for the sale mark up arising from tv revenues. And they will sell to any dregs of humanity that match their asking price.

I have no idea how you value a football club. It seems a complete nightmare. But I can't imagine that with such a small percentage of the shares being available to be traded at any given time that the share price is an accurate indication of the value of the club. £1400 might be the price for one share but I'm sure it isn't the share price for, say, a 5% stake.

No doubt there are different market dynamics involved in buying a single share vs a large volume of shares (because trading volume is so low), but the assumption is that if larger shareholder (i.e. Kenwright) wants shares he will buy them at any price below his reserve (what he thinks they're worth).

So if shares sell for £1400 and BK has bought 290 or so in the last xx years, presumably he doesn't value them any higher (or he'd be offering a higher price).

Clifford Finch, a nasty piece of work.
Clifford Finch is a blast from the past. The only thing I remember him for was, after Blackburn accepted an offer from Newcastle of £15 million for Alan Shearer, he went on the news to say that we'd offered £12 million. I think this must have been the original 'phantom bid'

I see that the Bluekipper bods have given up extolling the club line and called it a day.

Who is Elstone going to call on, as per leaked emails, now that they have gone?

What with them gone and the RedEcho getting a bashing, hopefully they will be gone soon unless they shape up, its interesting times ahead.

I sometimes pray for a dodgy Sheik or an Asian investor currently serving a few years in the clink to come in and buy us.

Objective one of any owner - put some cash in.

If you can't then kindly clear off.

He did exactly the same thing with Chris Sutton

Really sorry to see Blue Kipper go in its prime a brilliant web site, I am amazed anyone thinks any web site worry's anyone about anything in the large picture they are insignificant.
As for interesting times ahead you are far more optimistic than me, we are in a decrepit stadium and outside London I just cant see us getting investment sadly.

Good.

I was referring to who are beholden to the club and its PR machine.

As for a new stadium the club will never have a better time to build one given the low interest rates, the enormous increase in broadcast money an if they play their cards right the city wanting to kick start a regeneration area (hopefully on the outskirts of the city centre).
