Then that kind of post distorts a serious debate. Do not need folk making cheap cracks.
I've just got a -10 neg from the one they call moutsgoat confirming in his own posts he wasn't being sarcy.
Can't speak for Bryan.

Wow! Just wow!
There's nothing like living in blissful ignorance right??! And by your own definition, I'm assuming you believe all Brits are knife wielding maniacs??
Being a Brit and having lived over here for 6 years now, I can tell you that (certainly in Texas) there are a lot of gun owners, but let's examine a few facts:
A Tale of Two Cities
Chicago, IL Houston, TX
Population 2.7 million 2.15 million
Median HH Income $38,600 $37,000
% African-American 38.9% 24%
% Hispanic 29.9% 44%
% Asian 5.5% 6%
% Non-Hispanic White 28.7% 26%
Pretty similar until you compare the following:
Chicago, IL Houston, TX
Concealed Carry gun law no yes
# of Gun Stores 0 184 - Dedicated gun stores plus 1500 - legal places to buy guns- Walmart, K-mart, sporting goods, etc.
Homicides, 2012 1,806 207
Homicides per 100K 38.4 9.6
All I'm saying is that gun ownership and easy access to guns does not necessarily yield the results one would expect. Obviously, Chicago does not have the ease of access that Houston has, yet significantly higher homicide rate.
In fact from wikipedia and the prior year (2011), UK is 653 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate). I know we're not comparing like for like as it's cities and not countries, but I wonder how many of those 653 were committed in London??
I don't understand any of that.

Arsed about sone founding father law, it's no longer the revolutionary period where the right to bear arms was an important liberty.
Safety lies in less guns on the streets allowing the police to 'police ' the streets and uphold the law without having to rely on lethal force.
That comes from legislation around the ownership and purchasing of guns.
i'm sorry you took my post so seriously haha
I kinda thought you may have been jesting, however, I do get on my high horse occasionally, so figured the time was right to start throwing out some stats!!!
So you're saying the little bish got what she deserved?Although I certainly don't condone the behavior of the officer in the video, it does need to be said that there are conflicting reports of what occurred and importantly what information the officers had when dispatched to the scene.
I'll add rushing up to and surrounding the officer in that situation is just plain stupid. Regardless of the stupidity, there's no excuse for how severely and inappropriately the officer reacts to it.
Warning: disturbing footage:
Oh good, a gun control and police in the States kind of thread.
Bloody hell @Bruce Wayne , what have you done mate !!
Anyway, at times like this it's customary to tag @TX Bill in.
