I'm sure your right cheese. It doesn't change the fact though that is what this club needs. A big name manager.

There's players young and old in this squad that need that calibre of managed to progress. As you said getting such a manager is near on impossible.

Unfortunately players like barkley, stones, McCarthy, even older players like Coleman, Baines, jags are unlikely to win anything or reach their full potential remaining at everton playing under an average manager.

Martinez is a bigger name manager than Brendan Rodgers.

Martinez has actually won something.

I bet if you asked Wigan would they rather have an FA cup or be in the Premiership they would choose the league every time.

No team has ever won the FA Cup and gone down from the top tier in the same season. Our current manager managed that fantastic feat and just for ****s and giggles brought the playing staff and a handful of players with him. To a club aiming for Champions league - that is beyond stupid.

We're just talking about 'big name' or not.

Martinez is a big name in comparison to Rodgers. He's won something.

Technically so has Rodgers - he won the playoff final and promotion to Premiership + his management record is better. So no Martinez is not a big name compared to Rodgers.

Your arse indeed - 31% win rate for Martinez compared to 47% win rate for Rodgers (who has played almost twice as many games)

Wrong. The FA Cup program last night featured Wigan and Martinez said the fans stated they wanted the cup over safety. 'A cup title lasts forever, but we can bounce back from relegation or be relegated in the future' was the jist they were getting at.

Dont know mate. I know loads of registered users lurk without posting...no doubt mostly bona fide Evertonians too. It'd be nice to read their views.

Your Sarcasm knows no bounds Da-Veck ;)

Both Martinez and Rogers are both average managers who have done nothing in the big scale of things.

One FA cup win means nothing to me tbh. It's nice don't get me wrong but building what moyes did over 10yrs is a better feat IMO than the one FA cup fluke of martinez.

But hey ho everyone has there own opinions, that's what makes forums such a wonderful place!

I can't vote in this poll - my view is he gets around 8 games. If we're bottom half come October he should be bulleted.
