The End of Season Martinez Poll

theres still dissapointment from yesterday in the air.

I think it stems further back than yesterday.

That's too general and prompted by a poor final day performance.

The truth is that this season we blew hot and cold. The same players that tipped up their and surrendered yesterday were the team that blitzed United 3-0 a month ago.

I've been a supporter of Martinez as you know, and backed him in the middle of the season when others thought we would get relegated, something which was never going to happen.

However the doubts are there Dave, that was more than a just a poor end of season performance from the players, really it was.

We've got one a good squad of players, yesterday Baines aside it was pretty much our top team, yet we had no shape, no tactics, no passion and there was no change from the sideline.

The plotters have been saying this for a while, for the first time I saw evidence of it myself.

I'm beginning to doubt "it's just a bad season" - I can just as easily argue that the whole season has been a disaster from the beginnings of pre-season, the players being under-cooked. The tactics, the selections, the apparent lack of conviction in the players, his inability to change things in the course of a game...... etc etc.

Yesterday was the poorest performance tactically, the least motivated Everton team, stuffed full of talent, yet looking lost, hopeless and bereft of ideas on the pitch and on the touchline.

However we would need a suitable replacement before he went, otherwise no point.

Wouldn't call that plotting when it's reasonable succinct and, crucially, not repeated every other day. My guess is this isn't your first rodeo.

To win the FA Cup or League Cup you just have to win 6 games in a row, not exactly a terribly large challenge especially when 3/4s of the PL can't be bothered with them.

It was an end of season non event. Can you remember a tub thumping end to the season when nothing's been at stake? Spurs had 5th to secure. They were motivated to get the result.

I'm surprised at that view of yours because it's makes no sense to me. Maybe you can read body language or something!

The first half yesterday must have been REALLY poor. I only saw the game from the 49th minute on, and while we weren't great, I've seen worse from the team this year...and last frankly. Spurs at Goodison in the first half last year was TERRIBLE...we were so lucky not to concede.

Again, I didn't see the first half, so I've no clue how it went.

But theres the thing, no one has suggested a realistic improvement. Just more risky unproven managers or totally unrealistic ones

The aim should be to win every game you play therefore you should have the aim of winning silverware each season.

Putting out [Poor language removed] starting XIs against naff teams who have the desire to win against a 'big team' isn't the way to go about winning.

Which season was it where we got hammered 1-6 in the final game? Don't think it had anything riding on it either.

It's not a fully formed view yet, but I am moving in that direction. I will provide further evidence but probably not this evening!
