think world class is pushing it tbh.

i never really remember too much of martyn which is a good thing - can't remember a blunder in his time here anyway. was he really good for us, or is it because since nev we've had howard, robles, mucha, wright, mhyre, simonson, westerveld, baardson and so so keepers like that?

Absolutely love him, he's one of my personal favourites.

Nigel single-handedly saved us from relegation back in the 03/04 season and played a massive part in us finishing 4th the year after. Was guttered when he had to retire because injuries and age caught up with him.

Wish we heard more from him, he's mostly kept his head down since retiring. Wherever he is, I hope he still keeps an eye for us.

Wish we'd got him at a younger age, instead of the back end of his career. Best I've seen here bar Nev of course.

Top top class. Howard is a good keeper, but Martyn was a great keeper. As people have said the best since Big Nev.

Spot on. Quality, was Nigel. Nev was better, but in a sea of Paul Gerrards and Richard Wrights, Nigel Martyn was a godsend.

Peter Johnson's fault he went to Leeds and wasn't here longer.

My heart sank when we signed him.I'd remembered the game in 95 when they had just brought in the pass back rule and he'd gifted Ferguson two goals when he panicked as he was closed down.Happy to be proved totally wrong!

Best keeper I've seen play for Everton hands down. Except maybe southall when I saw him play for us in the 5 a side seniors tournament they used to(?) show on sky.
