Luke needs pointing out that Bainsey spent two years or so playing second fiddle to a centre back when he arrived from Wigan. Patience is needed, squad depth is needed for competition, and will be found in every and any club he goes to.

I think he has probably gone or he would have signed by now and the ironic thing is we will probably need a back up left back to bainsey next season because Oviedo seems injury prone.

Wouldn't judge him on Saturdays performance, what I've seen of him, he is very good going forward and at dead ball
situations, not so good defensively, but the more he plays the more he'll learn and hopefully improve, like a lot on here I
think he's got another club lined up and it may be Liverpool going by rumours from early in the season.

He doesn't strike me as snidey enough for the red lot. Having said that, if he takes the benefits of our training / coaching advice and wages and goes off without a fee to our biggest rivals, just because he can't get a sniff over an established england player that'll be snidey enough.

“It’s a shame that Bryian Oviedo is not fit because the way he has been fighting all season it would have been a great way for him to end the season playing. But Luke Garbutt is ready.”

Again, is it wise to come out and say that? In other words, Garbutt still wouldn't be playing now Baines is out if Oviedo was fit.

That's not going to make Garbutt rush to find his pen to sign that contract is it? His manager has just confirmed that when everyone is fit, he's third choice and he'd rather Oviedo was stepping in instead!
But in the same way what would Oviedo think if he wasn't mentioned as second choice ahead of Luke?

After all Bry has patiently waited on the bench behind Baines for a couple of years, adores the club and been excellent when needed. The only reason he hasn't been available is awful luck with injuries that he has been working hard to recover from. He is also about to enter the last year of his contract.
