Now now - are you related to IDS?. You've certainly got his siege mentalitywhen confronted with questions you don't grasp thoroughly.

People who can work, but choose not to because they'd prefer just to get benefits because they think the world owes them a living.

That's right - they get all sorts of money just THROWN at them - no conditionality attached WHATSOEVER.

What's it gonna be next? "I know a fella, he gets this that & the other......"

Me: I'm agaisnt an islamaphobia law ed milliband wants because it could hurt freedom of speech to insult am ideology.

You: Oh my god you want to insult people

Me: I classify scroungers as people who don't work because they don't want to. They just think the world owes them a living.

You: Oh my god what about the disabled

Jesus Christ.

You have nothing whatsoever to vote Tory for. Nothing. If you dont own capital, have no land or property or other forms of wealth that cushion you from economic personal collapse then you have just voted against your own interests.

If you lose out in this next 10 years or so (and it is guaranteed 10 years given the boundary changes to come on top of the ground the opposition have to make up) then woe betide you. They wont be arsed if you put an x next to their candidates name. You're in the cross hairs like the rest of us.

You: Nonsense

Everyone else: LOL

You never watched the video did you. Farage never mentioned muslims once, he was just saying that if he was in charge he'd scrap the law saying you can't discriminate while hiring people based on skin colour.

Sounds like a pretty racist view to me.

I wasn't thinking the best - it's cynical politics.

They have to do it now anyway. I don't think people truly understand just how big £12bn of cuts is to welfare - basically 10p in every £1. It's quite literally unattainable without it amounting to effectively state sanctioned murder - that's not an exaggeration either, people will literally die from that.

It's the end of the welfare state: farmed out to the voluntary sector now. It's the end of the NHS as we know it; mostly privatized (those bits that can make a good profit)...expect an American insurance scheme system for all of us soon.

That should take care of the £12 billion, and then some.

Apparently though it's not going to affect the 11M who voted Tory. They'll all be ok. They cleverly came to their decision by carefully weighing up the choices on offer.

Let's see how that one goes.

....just checked the betting for next Labour leader, Chukka is relatively short priced followed by Andy Burnham. Yvette Cooper is a likely runner but I can't see that happening myself.

Burnham is exactly the sort of guy who will alienate every area of U K except Merseyside. Chukka has no purchase on any constituency except London. Cooper, Jarvis and possibly Rachel Reeves are just about the only candidates who have the slightest chance of recovering some pride from a horror show.

Sickened that good people - including people posting on here @the esk @chewee- have been let down by an Oxbridge elite who could tell you the price of a falafel on Kings Parade but wouldn't know scatchings from excema.

I'm thinking it probably won't end well

Nobody wants him to go full Tory on us - it'd be great if he did a good job, and reasonable minded people would applaud him for it.

Problem is I don't think his idea of a good job is the same as what a lot of the working class would call a good job!

Not only that, he's got the EU referendum to overcome, he's got a wafer thin majority which, knowing the Tory backbenchers, could evaporate the moment they have a tiff with him, so he's got no choice but to be more right wing than Thatcher to appease them. And then he's got the Scots to deal with constantly, and I have little doubt mass protests are on the way too.

It'd be a miracle if he can pull of even a somewhat decent job here. The smart bet is on a return to the Thatcher era, which I'm sure some Tories will actually be happy about.

This could well be a return to the days of John Major and the "bastards".

The Eurosceptics have never gone away and will be cock a hoop that this victory came about because they outflanked UKIP with this referendum promise.

The tail will now proceed to wag the dog, as it did in the mid 90s.

The time will come in the next few years when we will look back on the Coalition as a golden era......when the Liberals were able to smother at birth the wildest notions of Thatcher's revived class warriors.

Come up and join us pal. You'll get a vote in the next inevitable referendum for sure!
Good luck to the Scots. I hope they ram their advantage home. You've got a demographic shift to come in your favour too: the pension age who voted heavily 'No' back in September wont be replaced by people who think like them.

Independence in the next parliament might not be on the table, but full fiscal autonomy will be and that's pretty much you lot free of these Tory beauts down here anyway.

Yes, I now pronounce you the new St Nik the saviour of England.

At last, a worthy replacement for English St Nik.

why would he do that when his constituency isn't in Merseyside ?
Now if you'd said "North West," then that's completely different.

his majority is what 9? could you explain what the problem here? cos im guessing its unlikely 9 mps are gonna die/join ukip

i must be missing something

His majority us effectively 13 thanks to Sinn Fein still fighting the wars of a century ago and refusing to take their seats.

No, let's get this right - you said you wanted freedom to insult (NOT criticise - there is a difference) idealogies. Quite how you insult an idealogy is anyone's guess as an idealogy is inanimate.

I didn't mention ANYTHING about islamists or islamaphobia, did I? So WHY make out any faux outrage on my part when I didn't express any whatsoever?

As for these so-called 'scroungers' Show me where they can claim all sorts without working or showing that they're NOT looking for work & I'll become one myself.

You CAN'T because of the CONDITIONALITY THEY MUST SUBJECT THEMSELVES TO - IN ORDER TO CLAIM BENEFITS.

Until then get your facts right, and stop being a narrow-minded bigot with a siege mentality.
