I've always thought it amusing that economic migrants tend to be very right wing while right wing parties tend to be very anti immigrant.

Because many of them see through the screams of WACISM and think well, actually, controlling who comes into your country is a pretty good idea

She'll be deported soon. Tell her that and see how much longer she's laughing for.

Aye. Either/ both of you lose those jobs by any unfortunate means & end up earning earn less than £18k and it's cheerio.

Ask the tories if she'll be missed then why dontcha?

It's hardly surprising when you think about it. Immigrants make a net boost to our economy, so they tend to do well in society as a result. And, just like any Tory voter, the moment they start doing well they couldn't give a crap about anyone else!

I think they also assume it'll stop other people coming in and not them.

The same way people are pro eugenics assume that their genes will be considered superior.

She isn't right wing in a social sense, but grew up under communism, which may explain things a bit.

She isn't laughing Dave, she's Czech, they're a very serious people :) Lets be honest here though, I don't think any of the parties trumpeted the value of migration, and I'm fully certain that none of them were advocating for migrants to be allowed to vote in national as well as local elections.

I've no idea if she'll be allowed to vote in any EU referendum, but suspect she'll vote to stay in, as will I. Oh, and she was deported under a Labour government so is probably quite used to it.

Christ, that's the kind of remark you could imagine Farage coming out with. Shame on you.

I did not vote Tory, and nor do I expect to in the future, but I honestly hope they make a decent fist of it.

I hope that if austerity is to remain the weapon of choice - as it would have under Miliband - then they achieve their aims and goals of getting the deficit down.

I do not want us to leave the EU, but I hope that they can bring about a better settlement for Britain and then make a strong case for us to remain.

While the economy is a potent political weapon, I do not want it to collapse just so that we can make a point.

I'm not a unionist, but I hope that they can stem a tide of nationalism that can become ugly very quickly by improving the constitutional relationship with Scotland.

Basically, you're not my guy, but good luck DC!
