On politics in general :

Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance. No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have researched the records for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.”

"A good politician is quite as unthinkable as an honest burglar.”

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

You're right. Negative headlines in Le Monde and Der Spiegel greet Cameron's re-election.

I don't think he commands any respect in Europe, and rightly so as he has shown no leadership on the UK's behalf, acting purely in narrow party interests, and was tellingly left out of discussions between Merkel, Hollande and Putin.

They aren't going to give him anything.

The discussions between Merkel, Hollande and Putin were best served by neither the UK nor the USA being involved......

Look its not outcome some of us wanted, the cons will have approx a small 6 seat majority - a EU referendum on the horizon - David Mellor who I do not like made an interesting comment over Europe the EU - John Major as PM blamed 6 Bts for his meltdown David Mellor reckons DC may have 60 BtS if he does not tow the line on his EU promises if he tries to fudge the issues on renegotiation etc.
Still a disappointment, I felt it was time for change, but its not a massive majority - I wonder if any party will attempt a coalition after the complete wipe out bar 8 of their candidates? mainly stolen from the party they were in coalition with!
I feel the prospects of a Labour government propped up by the SNP changed English votes at the last week in the run up the Tories cleverly rammed this Jockalite point home - Boris will no doubts get a cabinet position let the sparks begin!

I can see your point, but I can't see that Cameron would be happy to be left out. He was, because he is isolated in Europe.

He could be winning quite a stunning election victory, whilst leaving a legacy in a few years of having played a clumsy part in the break-up of the UK, and us leaving the EU, through narrow minded party political decisions.

You certainly won't be doing anything illegal. Which is why I am agaisnt the islamaphobia law ed wanted. Freedom of speech is one of our greatest assets.

You misunderstand. I'll attack the person behind the conservative idealogy as well. They obviously deserve it for thinking that way.....Don't they?

Doesn't matter, because it wouldn't surprise me to see Cameron back tracking on giving the country a referendum in 2017, he will come out with some crap along the lines of "it's not the right time to have it."

Also look forward to them telling us where this £30 Billion round of cuts is going to come from, and then wait for the meltdown.
