Labour privatized more of the NHS than the tories. I don't understand why people are saying tories are going to privatize it.

Yeah it's not like the Tories haven't got a track record of privatizing things or anything...

What's your forfeit if ANY further part of it is?

I'll look silly (or something, I'm not sure the gallows are fit for a forum)

It will be privatised piecemeal, as seen with Circle Health. It's a matter of time - they've got unfunded spending and cuts to make; the NHS is an ideological goldmine for them to exploit, and we all know this Thatcher Lite regime has no problem exploiting ideology.

That isn't privatisation. Not in my eyes anyway. If it's free at the point of care, then it isn't privatised.

Tories officially have a majority.

Utterly breathtaking result considering the position (we thought) the parties were in 24 hours ago.

First PM to increase his vote share since 1955.

I said weeks ago Labour should have been plastering those photographs of that smug bunch of self regarding, entitled buggers on every lamppost in England.

Hiw could any ordinary person vote for that bunch?
Labour were truly had off by the polling organisations, if they had known they were so far behind then they could have fought dirty just like the Tories did and it could have been different.

Labour were too nice, too dignified, the Tories lead a campaign full of smear, scaremongering and school yard bullying that got the job done.

This is going to be very interesting.

The current make up of the House of Lords is as below.

Bishops 26
Conservative 224
Crossbench 178
Labour 214
Liberal Democrat 101
Non-affiliated 21
Other parties 15
Total 779

Whilst I'm totally in favour of Lords reform, there is the danger that this too becomes a distraction from the real issues the government need to be dealing with.
