The rain, it raineth every day
For those few who are interested, particularly in Lancashire's attempts of returning to the First Division. Currently top of the table with two wins out of two, but struggling a bit in their latest match :
Northants - 385 Lancs 59-2

oh how i'd love my home county Gloucestershire to have a decent season,it's been a long time since they've played any form of the game well .
Looking good in the current match and your first win of the season :celebrate:

We fall under Lancashire mate. They actually play some home games in Aigburth. It's a good day when the sun's out to just chill and have a drink.
Great beer tent ; play Notts in a one day game Tuesday 4 Aug.
Play at Southport as well, nice and compact and a sun trap : 24 May 4 day game against Derbyshire

Back at Southport! I saw some county games there in 1982 and 1983 including the famous day when Warwickshire racked up 523-4 dec in 106 ovs and Lancs still had time to finish the first day on 39-1 off 8 overs. Humpage hit 254 (with 13 sixes mostly clumped over the railway line) and Kallicharan an unbeaten 230. It was three day cricket in those days and amazingly Lancs won the match by 10 wickets. Graeme Fowler at the start of his county career scored a ton in each innings. 33 years ago and I remember the day and game like it was yesterday. The game was written up in a cricket book of the time called Purple Patches I seem to recall.

A usually inept Kent (my team!) are doing their best to avoid the ignominy of being the first team to lose a county game to Leicestershire since Sept 2012.

They got dropped by Lancashire because their pitch became ropy, and it's took a while for them to get a game.
