ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

This "charity" game of theirs tomorrow is going to be horrendous, isn't it?

All the Judas's past and present lined up to come on for their absolution from "the world famous Kop"...tears will flow...commentators will wax lyrical about "special relationships and bonds, and magical nights in Europe".

....they're soooo predictable. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/talking-point-special-day-celebration-8943641

Liverpool All Stars Talking Point: Special day of celebration and forgiveness

Fernando Torres was unsure of what his welcome would be, his departure for Chelsea still fresh in the memory of many fans. He had been here as recently as April 27 last year, one of the enemy with Jose Mourinho’s team.
That day the man who had put such bounce into the Kop played just the final six minutes in a game which left the Reds’ fairytale title challenge utterly deflated.
He need not have worried over his welcome, the cheers for his name as warm as any on show, both at kick-off and half time.
It felt right, it was that sort of day. The clouds disappeared, literally and symbolically.
It appears the 31-year-old’s recent return to his beloved Atletico Madrid has allowed his years at Stamford Bridge – and occasional regrettable comment - to be forgiven...

Lots of things happened that should have happened.

England forward Raheem Sterling, 20, will turn down a £180,00-a-week new deal at Liverpool.

lol lol lol lol lol

£180,000 pw. You cant live on that. It's an insult.

This is all coming at just the right time for Liverpool too: injured and suspended players out, fighting to cling to United's coat tails on the run in. Sterling is going to be the scapegoat this season.

I like Woy's intervention too: saying Sterling plays better for England than his club.
The feller has his fangs into Liverpool and wont let go. He's on his way to cult status in my book.

This will light the "blue"touch paper for them IMHO,now clubs know what he wants they will be put off,he won't agree terms with the RS,they have an unhappy player on their hands for next season, disharmony in the camp, captain in waiting Horrenderson will be asking why he is being offered less than half of Sterlings proposed offer, other senior pro's won't be enamoured with this either, and best of all I wonder what Mario makes of all this?lollollol

you may have been negged for this comment but in truth its one of the most sensible posts in this thread, mock liverpool fans by all means but its ridiculous to mock their team/players given how awful we are this season, just makes our fans come across as divs tbh.

We've had a tough season, we're being mocked left, right and centre including by ourselves and right fully so although it all starts again in August and we currently have our best squad for 20 years, that seems to be the unanimous opinion of most, so there's still plenty to look forward to.

I'll never turn up a chance to deflect from our own troubles and more importantly mock them. Our poor form might detract from it but they've still gone out of both European competitions at the first possible stage. After last years title challenge, they've lost 2 of the worlds bes playerst, spent 100 mill and are currently in a battle for the top 7 with Spurs and Southampton.

I also read some mad stat the other week that we've more games than them in all comps and scored more goals than them, despite there great football (this may be wrong, it's just what I read) this season.

Things might be bad but watching there better players hold the club to ransom whilst average players like Henderson are captaining them and holding them to ransom also, I'm going to make the most of it.
