But if the only reason you are not paying someone a certain salary is their age, not their talent or worth to the team, isn't that ageism? You may say you are doing it to protect them from themselves but it is still discrimination.

Thought it was only me watching a different player then. On Sunday he did 4 things, all of them giving possession away which is what he does everytime I see him. I've never seen a player give the ball away as much as him. The crowd must have collectively sighed at him at least 3 times. Hugely overrated player who like Sturridge, looked twice the player when Suarez was in the team.

...agree. He could arguably be the best player at the club. If that's the case I can understand him asking to be on a par with their top earners.

TBH Brendan has virtually been playing him at right back, or to use the phrase that some lid on the Guardian's football postcast came up with "the guy that takes the throw ins badly". As for his talent, he is one of their better players but is suffering from a mix of second season syndrome combined with Lallana being bought to play in his position.

Ah yes....and hopefully its a three ring circus attached to them this time. One for Gerrard, one for Skrtel and one for AN Other still to come for us to enjoy. A bit bored with the Sterling saga now so its about time one of the others threw a spannner in their works for the circus parade. I wonder when the Royal Mail are bringing out the Collectors First Day Issue RS Commemorative Stamps.

Sterling believes his own hype his crossing is poor and his shooting isn't much better. He should take the money as he'll be found out and probably end up on 65k a week somewhere like Swansea. He is the new SWP.
