I really hope he can stay injury fee at least till the end of the season. That is the only way how Martinez will at least for a while play somebody else instead of Barry. Barry can be still a good player for us, but he badly needs a rest and not playing 90 mins 2 times per week all season long.

To my mind there is no coincedence: Barry doesnt play we win. He's good for the more tactical European games but he is too slow and negative for the league.

Gibson just makes us better, great player. Prope footballing centre mid.

Thought he made a fair few sloppy passes today but his confidence to take his time in possession and get his head up to pick out a considered pass has been sorely lacking this season and makes all the difference. He's also a bit more demanding of the forwards to move into space, which has probably been one of our biggest problems.

Whatever Martinez feels Barry offers (experience, positional awareness, etc.) wasn't missed today.

Do you know why he sat in the centre of midfield unlike barry who stands on our centre backs toes!
He dominated without pace just skill, and he and Ossie put us on the front foot all the time also leaving James MaCarthy to venture forwards , and hurt their defence this does not happen when Barry plays!

Martinez has a big decision to make on Thursday, we only need a draw. Do you play Barry for his experience in big games or Gibson because he provides the greater goal threat. He could play them both with McCarthy and Osman. Play Lukaku and Kobe up front. Mirellas and Naismith on the bench to change things if they get a couple of goals.

Fully expecting Barry but won't complain either way.

Gibson is giving us an option in the league. I'd go Barry to keep us solid on Thursday and then Gibbo Sunday to open up QPR. Otherwise they'll try and sit back and hit us on the break. He will unlock them.
