Yeah, as far as I was aware, the BBC executives have changed since the 70s.

I know pal it was tongue in cheek, thing with Clarkson is he's a buffoon. He knows what he's doing and he does it on purpose to get reactions exactly like he is doing.

The cynic in me would think this is a publicity stunt, like the Argentina crap they pulled.

Wrong, the most popular show is "Strictly come dancing" by viewing figures in the UK but not in terms of money.

But how much are the creators creaming it in on spinoffs around the world? Only so many countries have bought into trying their own top gear shows, but iirc there are a lot more terrestrial tv shows pumping out sex by the gallon via strictly in to their respective audiences.

No, they have done what any self respecting organisation have done and protected their employees by disciplining assault. Are you seriously suggesting the BBC should turn a blindeye to physical assault in the work place?

No, but there is a difference between pulling a show because one of it's 3 presenters has been suspended, and suspending Clarkson and letting top gear continue for the couple of weeks it has left.

I don't think Clarkson should be able to get away with assault, and although this has not become a police matter, he should still have been suspended and probably fired altogether. The amount of taxpayer money that refusing to show the last 2 episodes will cost is not worth pulling the show entirely because of an internal matter though, which was my point.
