One more chance, a win vs Newcastle and QPR might see us away from the fight. Any slip ups and he's out. The long term damage has already been done though, we're going to lose out on millions, its the beginning of more relegation fights to come.

Yes, you argue your point mate, and well to a degree, and as I've said, some of it I totally get. But you jump, and criticise when one view happens to oppose your own...

'Laughable caricature'. Pfffff, get me, I've achieved, ta muchly. Rich though, coming from a seemingly a chronic onanist who's blinded by the hope that we have a great manager for whom everything is currently as he wishes and working out jussssst groovy. It isn't. What are you seeing that others aren't? You're using the argument that he's mixed it all up already. Stunning. What's it achieved then? Thus it's a player issue? So why's that?

I asked you, the 3 games down the line scenario, what if? Really, what if?

And please don't suggest you're unwilling to answer a 'what if' because your ENTIRE argument is based on the same.

Oh, and respectfully, I used the phrase self-importance as you keep referencing how much you're looking forward to being 'proved right' etc after the NU game? Y'know, when we crawl back under stones etc. Back-slapping, self-importance, it runs on...

BTW, the KOPITE behaviour thing....an example of which, in my experience, is their ability to defend the undefensable. Which is EXACTLY what you're doing, as you yourself have said I believe, facts/figures etc...

That said, it's Friday, go have a Gin while I telephone some old media chums to explain the essence of being 'blinkered' to me.

Chin-chin.;)
You ask me what mixing it all up has achieved...when you're the one advocating it!! Dear me.

Three games down the line and we have 1 point extra? That's not even worth asking in this climate. He'd be fired I suppose. Should he be at that point? Well that would depend on whether we have a gap that's non-existent anymore. I've stated since this madness took hold that what happens below us is as important as what we do in respect of safety. I'll stick to that. We have 6 home games left...10 in all. You need to show some faith that the probably 8 points we'll need will easily be achieved...even the last 10 coughed up 7. As appalling as that is, that added to the 6 we have in hand over the bottom three would be enough to hold them off...and that is worse case scenario.

As for defending the indefensible and my Kopite behaviour thereby: I'm stepping back and calmly viewing the likely conclusion to all this. I'm astounded you believe I'm the one with the fanciful and wild analysis when there's a load on here screaming that their hair is on fire at each result.

In my heart I hope we beat Newcastle, in my head I know it will be a different story. Martinez will not have any change to his side and his philosophy. He will stand on the touchline looking bewildered, `why doesnt the other team play like I want them to play` .... the confusion is visible on his face. If we lose we will be treated to a masterclass in `positive thinking` he should right a book on this subject ... the players who want out will not hang around and shoot straight down the tunnel, after struggling with 90 minutes of pass and 90% possession football. The pressure will just mount and mount! Lets hope we win for Everton FC`s sake
That's the spirit eddy. lol

I hope we hammer the bar codes we need to get safe asap.
Even if we stay up could you trust martinez for another season?

I hope also we win against the Toons but your last comment is the one for me. If we have floundered albeit got enough points to escape the big R, can he be allowed the summer transfer window. This is what worries me, if we are rubbish again next season even with a few new players and he leaves, the club could well be hamstrung with a few nonentities who no doubt will have 3 year contracts.

dear devek.
May I ask you some question?

If Martinez is to stay.
who will coach better movement off the ball?
who will tell the players to harass the ball back instead of waiting from an unforced error to regain possession?
who will organize the defend to prevent less crosses?
who will drop Howard?
who will have the vision to recreate a game plan that suits lukaku strength?
who will coach this team to attack with more pace?
who will prevent handling out contracts to dead wood like Osman etc.
who will plan a better pre season schedule?

I can go on and on.... can you enlighten us with your insight?

Former Everton and Arsenal defender Martin Keown has said that Roberto Martinez has started to look lost in some of his post-match interviews.

The TV pundit added that the Spaniard could perhaps do with someone in his backroom with experience of working in management at a big club like Everton, which he is currently lacking.

“Martinez is starting to look a bit lost in some of his post-match interviews,” said Keown.

“He seems to be more focused on games coming up rather than the games he’s just had. I don’t know if Martinez would benefit from some more experience on his staff or those who more used to working at a bigger club, because Everton are huge.

“Their run of form is very concerning. Martinez is obviously a very creative manager and loves to play an attacking team, but at the moment they need to scrap and learn to pick up points where they can.”

He has proved this season he will not change his tactics even with our fall down the table.
I don't see how he will change it next season if he can't do it this season.
He might buy a few players but with his system it will still be rom up front on his own and 3 defenders round him.
He will still play 2 or 3 defensive midfielders and shoehorn naismith in.
He needs to rip up his beliefs and start again but he will not do that so nothing will change.
He has to go

But it won't be Dave's :)

Dave is like one of those Lancaster bombers one sees in old WW2 movies.

Johnny Kraut has shot down the rest of the squadron.

The fighter cover has had to back off.

The ack ack guns have blown half of one wing off.....all his crew have been shot.

But Captain Dave steers that plane right over the munitions factory and delivers his payload ;)

yeah calling everyone who disagrees with him kopites and slugs is really honourable stuff

It simply isn't true to say that long term damage has been done.
We have the same squad of players that were pushing for fourth last year, these have not become bad players overnight.Any player that wishes to force a move away from the club will be sold for large amounts of money as they all are on long term contracts.. As long as we stay in the premiership we will still earn pots of money. We will lose money because of our league position this year will be worse than last year but I don't see that it will cause long term lasting damage as a good season would redress the balance and we still are in the Europa Cup.

There is no reason why next season can't be much improved..if you believe that RM is still a good manager and the right man for the job..which I still do.

It is my belief that this is the learning year for RM. He has made lots of mistakes and I think he has sorely missed having a creative midfielder in the team and with Osman(the closest we have to such a player) being injured it will left with a hard working industrious, but not creative midfield.
I expect this is what he will try to rectify in the summer.

The manager has made mistakes and the test of him will be if he learns from them.

But, if we did sack the manager ? Who replaces him ? What is our vision for the future?
Do we go back for manager that will keep us in the premiership but always as a mid table team ? Should we go after Allyrdyce or Pulis or Bruce ?
Do we go for some young championship manager as we did with Moyes, but will it work twice?
Do we go for a foreign manager and all the risks that entails. We are not big enough or rich enough to attract the cream of continental managers.

This time last year our biggest worry was RM being tempted away by big European clubs as he did seem to be a very bright and capable young manager.
I don't think we can afford to stay with him forever, but I do not believe that this is the right time to part with him.
