Everton this season have their joint lowest wins per league game vs any other season in their history (compared to completed campaigns)

Isn't it healthy to question the management set up in this scenario?!

Sharpie saying the opposition have us Sussed, could be sacked for saying that.

Every PL manager wants to play us every week. Mark Hughes interview before the game was a picture of a manager whom talked up our hard luck aspects but was confident of the result outcome.

When Leicester almost walked out of GP with 3pts the other week that was the moment that every PL manager in the bottom 6 must have looked at us and said to themselves... they,ve gone.

He is an excellent orator and a man with great values and passion for the game

He's NOT an excellent orator though mate... I've spent a couple of days, tragic as it is, pouring over interviews, and it's actually quite depressing/upsetting. He's passionate, yes, but it's on repeat for the most, almost script like in its delivery at times, as if he assesses how the interview's gonna be/the result has gone and inside & subliminally goes '...right, this calls for...hmmm, script 2 I think...'

And I hate posting this sort of stuff because I like him....and I hate feeling that his time is almost up too, but I do, I feel that, that's how it is...

Pfff....

It's not for me to knock Kendall but I do have some issues with his assertions. Just play like Pulis?

The problem is, we don't have the players suited to play that way. Also managers have to trust their instincts, if we set up to emulate another manager then in all honesty it wouldn't bode well.

I think we have to become harder to beat. I think Martinez has tried to do this in fairness. Part of playing 3 defensive midfielders has been this strategy. So what do we mean by "play like Pulis"? Play more direct? It makes a nice story that Martinez's and Evertons mistakes are down to passing it around lots. It may have been a problem at the start, but lets not kid ourselves the problems go well beyond that now.

Who honestly thinks, senior pro's like Mirallas who have underperformed are suddenly going to become worldbeaters if we start hoofing the ball. Is Howard going to stop making clangers if we play hoofball? Is it going to improve Lukaku's first touch? is it going to help us defend crosses better?
What can and should be learnt, is we need to put out as many consistent players as possible. This should begin with Robles in goal, which to my mind has been Howards biggest mistake.

He is right that we need to sort it out defensively first. We'd managed to crack it under Robles and looked very solid. Martinez putting Howard back in, and keeping him in has been a cowardly decision. It reminds me of Kendalls last season, when Southall was past it. Things only looked up once we got Myhre in.

It's nice to see him picking out Garbutt for praise, the lad looks a real find and I hope can get some game time in midfield.

It is also important Kendall saying how Catterick didn't go too hard on them when they lost. I see much of the same in this situation. Confidence is obviously completely shot. They just need things simplifying.

As regards Prentice's piece much of the same is being re-iterated. I understand people saying why hasn't Kone played more. The problem has been all of our players have been inconsistent.

It is very easy to use buzzwords or pick players out of the team who would save us. In all likelihood (w9th the exceptions of Robles) I don't see much improvement.

Probably that will be the tactic. It'll be very tense. But we have more of a motive to grab the points than they do. They are basically playing for nothing. Stoke the other night were looking to push on for Europe, not this lot. If the players are up for this we can win it. It's all down to them.

What worries me mate, is outside a couple of them I have not seen an Everton team with so little fight. McCarthy particularly, (and Naismith + Stones) look like they want to win. The others I'm not so sure about.

There are a handful who I honestly think couldn't care less. Mirallas, Lukaku, Kone to name 3 from Wednesday just strolled around without a care in the world. Watch Lukaku's reaction to giving the ball away for the second goal. I have always stuck up for him but Wednesday night wasn't good enough.

Out of both domestic cup competitions at the first hurdle and abysmal in the league, I've bit my tongue for long enough now, he needs to go. I want him to succeed, it's never nice to see Everton struggling but I fear the longer we let it go on the closer we move towards the brink.

He's well past the point of no return, the local press are now all over him like a rash. Clearly he can't handle a club as big as ours, he's aged terribly since he took over. Pre season was a shambles, the worst I can remember

....and, sadly, see what'll follow. Players that have recently been hushed will quite fantastically find their voices again, weird that innits...

How does it work in the industry THE ?

Does the chairman tell the Chief Exec to leak stories via club ambassadors and / or players as part of a campaign to undermine or soften up ?

Sounds a bit like Davek's conspiracy theories
