If we lose to Newcastle should he be sacked?
Depends on the points spread. If the dead men at the bottom have picked up points whittling the 6 point gap down I can see the axe falling.

My concern is that we get free of those three and start settling this down again.

We hav a very good manager struggling to cope atm. I think he can take us back up the table next season. That's my only concern.

Smith was sacked on that game because we were 1 point above the relegation spots. We are 6 points ahead

Moyes was in 14th place 6 points above the drop zone at that point (sound familiar?)

...oh, and by the way...both those had played 29 games at that point - Martinez has had 28. So if/when we beat the barcodes....

Pfffft!
Didn't Smith only win 1 of his last 9 games against

So let me get this straight, last season it didnt matter how close to the top we were, only the points gained mattered.

But this season the points dont matter, only the gap to the bottom?

You my friend are a fraud, leave the thread and let the adults discuss this Spanish Clowns exit plan.

Ashamed to say it's the first time I've voted for him to go. I wish I had more faith but I'm seriously worried about relegation. And it's not easy listening to his post match interviews either when all you get is the same meaningless waffle week in week out.
You can change it if you want mate.

We are 14th, not in the bottom 3; we have a 6 point gap that can be sustained; other teams have the likes of City, Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Chelsea to play still.

This is far from lost. It's more than probable that we'll get out of this by the end of the month...so why kick out a perfectly good manager having a bad season to try again with another one.

I said this before and I repeat, all the fans reaction (booing) and online, some media stories, bookies talking about Martinez being sacked, pundits asking lot of questions, ect.ect.ect.

Yet not a single word of support from BK and the board.

Roberto is a dead man walking, once we are out of Europa League, he will be gone, he might even be gone if we lose to Newcastle next week

You best not be stepping to Davek mate. You dont have the tools to deal with him.

Is 6 points clear of relegation good enough for you Dave? I thought you would have higher expectations than that.

The points dont matter because only winning stuff or qualifying for the CL does.

Isn't this obvious?!!!

It was good enough for Moyes, this is my only point here.

Is it good enough? Well of course not. But 72 points was decent last season wasn't it...was that good enough for you? Dont you think he should be given a chance to take us near that again? No? Too difficult to stand behind a manager having a poor season?

Well you can clearly see you've already answered all the questions you've pretended to ask me there.
