i don't get this "stick with him - it'll be ok next year" stuff. He appears incapable of motivating & organizing the team this year, and incapable of learning or adapting tactics. Surely only a buffoon would expect something different IF he manages to avoid the drop this year .

Yes. Because thats all we can do.

I'm embarrassed for this lot tonight.

They will be proven to have jumped the gun in a big way soon enough.

Dont be on the wrong side of history. Martinez will see this through.

This isn't jumping the gun I don't think Davek mate , we have been pathetic this season.
Stubbornness and continually trying the same thing to get different results is the number 1 reason managers are sacked , mainly because results don't improve. Sound familiar?

I just hope he doesn't relegate us with his ineptitude because he certainly has the ability to relegate us the phenomenal whopper.
If and thats a fairly big IF we do survive I hope he is given the bullet. Sincerely I do.
I like him personally but I don't believe in him , I don't think he is up to it and I don't think he should be our manager any more.

And for that reason I'm out.

Stoke ffs

The Martinez defenders have nothing to defend, not only are the results [Poor language removed] but the football is equally bad.

Some of the stuff we've been playing lately makes the Moyes days seem Barca-esque, you could at least forgive it if we were playing any decent football and were just not getting breaks but the results and league position match the performances.

He's gotta go. This is ridiculous. If he at least tried different things but still suffered defeats, you could at least say he tried different things. But this match-after-match predictability is tiresome.

Spot on. There's inspiring defeats and then there's uninspiring defeats

Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "It's disappointing as it has been a really tough two weeks. We showed that lack of cutting edge. Overall it was a pretty even game and I'm disappointed how we conceded the first goal as it is free header in the 18-yard box.

"I did feel that as a team we showed we had played a number of matches in a short period of time.

"The Europa League campaign is a bit obvious at the moment as it is a lot of games to play in a short period but as a club that is what we want, to play in Europe.

"The concern is a huge moment in the season, we have 10 games and we will treat them as finals. We are in this situation for many reasons but we are looking forward and up to get as high up in the table as we can.

"The desire and wanting for the result was there but the legs couldn't get there. We are ready to face the challenge straight on. We haven't got the results that our performances deserve.

"Everyone at the club, it's the moment to get together and make sure we finish the season strongly. We need bit of luck and momentum but it's not been that type of season."
Fair comment.

He cant say anything different.

We are all in this together....aren't we?????

He can go in the summer because I can't see anything other than the same stubborn mistakes next season.
If we don't beat Newcastle then he can go after that and Joe Royle can steady the ship until the summer.

2 wingers, that's all that was needed 2 wingers if he did that I'm sure people could have of least pointed out that he tried to change it up, but he never, we never and Everton didn't create, and now its too late, its not even up for debate, over 80% of us are irate, we are like a collective modern day Andy Tate, I just hope that it isn't fate, and that us as Evertonians aren't made to wait, as that I would Hate, and I'm sure that no one wants to berate, we just want Everton to be great.

Chelsea don't play with 2 wingers though.

Great season, bad season....third season God knows!e

He'll be still here though if he tirnes this around in the next couple.

The storm of kneejerking on here is an embarrassment.
Its not kneejerking its reality.
Martinez is lost and you know it.
2 wins in 16 and 9 losses with this squad says it all.

Roberto, is that you?

Your constant defending of RM is the same tripe that RMtreats us to with every post match interview. Same old BS.

don't be ridiculous. I am no idiot.

Pure Wigan mentality setting into the club and fanbase now, won't be long before we're back to the days when being 12th is a minor miracle.

Literally becoming Wigan.

Martinez comes giving "we're aiming for Champions League" now the spin is a couple of wins and we won't go down!lol(n)

I agree Dave but for me the threat of relegation is too real. We lose on Sunday and and the team in 18th (is it QPR?) win and we are right in the mix.

He is not the right manager to get us out of a relegation dog fight. He is NOT
