You both need to to watch him carefully, but not with your eyes wide shut, or you will miss the fastest feet in world football at work. It is with these feet that true magic occurs.

Absolute steal. And to think he has nowhere even approached his peak yet. We are in for a Golden Era of wingermanship over the next few years. Just keep your eyes peeled on him.

Were it not from many and many world class saves from goalkeepers all season from his dead eye shooting, I have no doubt he would be our top scorer. Just a simple of case of "bad luck".

Far superior player, for example, to that donkey Di Maria that Man U paid £59.7m for. Martinez is a genius. A genius eye for talent.

Do yourselves a favour from now on and keep a closer, more appreciative, educated eye on our gun winger. We are blessed...

I tell you mate, you are on the verge of convincing me that McGeady is even better than our most talismanic player. Naismith needs to look to his laurels!

Always listen to your grandfather - they're mostly right. And he probably is in this case too.

But let's wait another year before rushing to a final decision. The man deserves a chance.

Like you though, I'm sceptical that it will work out in the long run. But I wouldn't mind being wrong because if I'm not we will have to start again from scratch.

You cant build a house without the ground floor. Martinez ballsed it up last summer by believing he could continue to adapt the Moyes era personnel at the back. He surely must see that this summer his job depends on putting that abdication of duty right.

@davek is spot on when he says Martinez abrogated his Everton manager duty/responsibilities by flitting off to Brazil in the off season. I suggest, he will be doing a lot less flitting this summer

But seriously, even were there a major tournament on, Martinez would not be going to it. He realises that he dropped the ball last summer. And whilst we are now free of any relegation concerns, I suspect Martinez will not want to experience such fretful times again in any hurry.

5 points of the bottom 3. Not free yet by a long shot. But there has been enough evidence in the last month to make the prospect unlikely.
