How much would Koeman cost? That might sway my opinion.

Insanity that shout for Andy Gray.
Roberto isn't leaving. He deserves another season to turn things around, shed the team of its under performing senior pros and get us playing the way we were last season. The defence gifting goals has probably for me been one of the core problems this season and he has resolved that.
Wasn't something that many people thought he could do but he has shown some pragmatism in neglecting the attacking stuff a bit so to focus on being defensively solid, and now we aren't conceding much.
Once we have that solid foundation of a back 5 we can rely on not to ship soft goals as they had been doing all season, we can become more expansive in how we play going forward.
We still have a reasonable chance of some success in Europa as well. Win that or at least do well in it and we become a more attractive team for other players.
This summer is a big one in that he will need to lose much of Moyes's deadwood that really hit their expiry date at the beginning of the season, and replace them with players of quality that can play his system, as well as bringing in players to fill the gaps we already have in the squad.
Tough job but one that I feel he is up to.
The weather? Why would he come here?!

Your right there Advertus. But the reality is who knows how good Andy Gray would be. He could be brilliant or completely awful. But to be labelled insane for mentioning him as a candidate as a manager of Everton is what gets my back up. Opinions are opinions. No-one is right nor wrong. But some on this site have arrogance beyond belief. Might swerve these forums!
You cant build a house without the ground floor. Martinez ballsed it up last summer by believing he could continue to adapt the Moyes era personnel at the back. He surely must see that this summer his job depends on putting that abdication of duty right.
Distin and Pienaar contracts are ending. Those are two who we can easily ship out who aren't contributing and are past it.Agree on Gray.
On the deadwood see my post on another thread. I will ask you the same question, how do we get rid of the deadwood if no other club wants to buy them and we cannot afford to buy out their contracts? People who come out with this should think on.
BTW when we were shipping goals we were still not really scoring either.

Alcaraz is also rather injury prone and while he has been ok when he has played there are probably other options out there. His contract is ending too.
Hibbo may retire soon and he's on a minimal contract anyway, while some team would take a punt on Gibson who is proven quality if you can get him on the pitch.
Osman's recent injury is apparently pretty serious and he's considering his future as a footballer so may yet retire.
Alcarez was a poor signing. Buy RM was trying to add to what we had on the cheap with a free. He was always going to be a bit part player though. Distin and Jagielka had the jerseys and (as the horrible phrase goes) aren't fit for purpose.Hold on Dave, what about the players RM brought in, they were for the most part in your terms Moyesesq players.

Martinez needs to get rid of Alcarez and Distin and possibly retain Jagielka for a decent stand in sub (though personally I'd sell him if money came in for him). My sympathy for Martinez would be severely tested this summer if we didn't get in another couple of CBs.
Jagielka's alright with half a dozen team mates around him. He's like the football equivalent of Steven Gerrard facing down an awkward DJ.Is that the same Jagielka that has been topping MOTM votes recently?
Shall I do a pie chart?
Stop labelling Jags with Distin, they are different players.
Unlike your Spanish Moyes wannabe.
