If you're telling me that's the only reference we ever make to our history- or that's how much we value it, fine. I like the Liverpool fan comparison though, thanks for that. I'm entitled to have my own opinion on Chelsea, sorry if that offends! ;)

You're completely entitled to have your own opinion. Nobody said otherwise. I merely suggested (as I'm also completely entitled to do) that if you like banging on about history, or another club's lack of history, that there's another club for that. Basically, I'm saying that's kopite behaviour without directly saying "that's kopite behaviour". Sure, appreciate history, but what matters is right now and don't belittle an entire club's fanbase because you're upset that we lost 1-0.

He should have cleaned everyone out like Joel did a few matches back. I know it's harsh as he did play well but it's the fine margins. Joel is a better keeper.

But it was a poor punch. He's too small.

Hindsight is a great thing to have.

However, the risk of him catching it, being floored, dropping it, conceding a goal and the referee allowing it (especially after some of the decisions in that game) was far too high. The punch may have been poorly executed but it was the right thing to do at the time.

Lukaku scores we prob win the game. Ref sends Ivanovoc off too we prob get a draw. One of them games im afraid. Still fancy us to finish around 10th and give the Europa a good go. Wont be loosing anymore sleep of this one

Bad night that. Good to see we now have a game plan. Instead of being bullied by these media, F.a , sellouts we should stand up to them. We should break games up , complain and appeal more for desicions. We need to stop bein nice little Everton . And fans of other clbs should stay off our websites if there guna talk s#*t

Indicative of our season really. Everything goes wrong that can go wrong.

Of course this isn't helped by our manager considering a player who is probably League One standard as the superstar of the team and completely undroppable. (Naismith, not Barry).

Our defence was outstanding, we took 90 minutes of pure attacking force at the bridge. They carve out teams on a regular basis. and quite easily too. they were only going to get the goal from a deflection, we were solid. the tactics were spot, if it werent for that freak save by their keeper we could have come away with 3.

i always knew we would play well. we always do. the problem is not playing the top 6, its playing everyone that is technically below us in skill.

That's because they attack.

When yer Hulls, Stokes and Baggies park the bus, that's when we are in trouble.

And it is all very well flooding the midfield against the RS and defending kike Trojans at Chelsea, it is how we deal with Leicester which is the real acid test.

Looking back now, we came very close to getting a point out of a very difficult fixture and with a bit of luck might have had more. I blame Howard form their goal and this has nothing to with his selection. It was poor judgement to come rushing out when there were two Everton players already covering and this meant he was out of position to get back. Although the deflection was unfortunate. His punch out was terrible but he did make some other very useful saves.

Martinez was quite right in the PM interview to flag up the lack of control the referee had and the harassing by Chelsea players which was inexcusable. Ivanovic should have a red card for the neck hold on McCarthey which was right in front of the referee. Everton should raise this with the FA etc and complain. The referee absolutely lost control in this game and he should be reported for his failure.
